Most realistic GA plane available on Xbox

Hi you’all.

I wonder what’s the most realistic GA prop plane (non-turbo prop) in MSFS for Xbox users.
I mean in flight model and cockpit operation (functional buttons and so on).
I couldn’t find a related topic on this.

That’s probably an easy one:

For single engine prop planes I’d recommend Piper Turbo Arrow or Warrior from JustFlight. I also recommend the Cessna C310 from Milviz/Blackbird if you’re into twin props. (Also recommend the Chancellor C414AW from Flysimware)

None of the first three aircraft suggested are, currently, available for Xbox.

I also endorse the C414 and also suggest the revised 2.0+ version of The Islander.

The Islander also only for PC?

C414 Chancellor and the Islander is my vote.

No. It is available on Xbox.

If you’re fine with a glass cockpit, the Kodiak is also a strong candidate.

Good point, its not my thing personally but it probably is fairly realistic.

I don’t like the 414 on Xbox. It has that annoying old Cessna autopilot and no 750 support. And has had some weird ongoing control issues.

For now, the Kodiak is hard to beat.

That’s a turboprop with glass cockpit?

The included 172 pair glass/steam are not bad and a crisply rendered place to be, along with the new Beaver for nostalgia that’s very serviceable/tolerable-definitely the most plain old fun on floats. Albeit glass, the standard Bonanza is a solid flyer. I find favorites in particular envelopes/missions. Really depends on what you want to do, how high, how fast, STOL or executive slick or nostalgic and noisy… And sometimes ‘realistic’ and enjoyable do not share the same space. There are times I want to be challenged and others when I want a pleasant flight and a nice smooth approach and ground work, like I know what I’m doing. Sometimes aircraft are just modeled to the point of being too fussy to enjoy, and you may mistake ‘realism’ for what is really just a poor model, and people spend countless hours on forums thinking there’s something they’re missing flying it.

And if you want to ‘get somewhere’ at 300+KT above and beyond, an executive 170KT IFR challenge, bush fly in awful weather, or enjoy the scenery are all COMPLETELY different missions.

Depends on what your plane to do and where you want to go, then find a decent aircraft to do it, the Shock Ultra is awesome for it’s mission, as is the Kodiak. For ‘flying a GA plane’, the steam 172 is still always a great choice. The Bonanza gets it done, but the original Vtail is a pleasant cruiser. BR Goose is awesome, and the Beaver is starting to win me over a bit. But I’m never deciding between any of these aircraft in the setup menu.

Bar none, the best overall XBox aircraft is still the Kodiak soup-to-nuts. Doesn’t mean you’ll ever want to fly one though, unless a utility TP is what you want to see in the setup menu. And there’s plenty of good already in your hangar. Just the recent avionics upgrade/bug fixing and flight model updates really put new life into some of the included planes.

Free Stuff:

With the latest Working Title G3000, along with the very latest improvement mod from Mugz, you’ll have an outstanding “get there fast” GA in the form of the TBM930.

If you want to haul stuff, the stock C208 has evolved fairly well, but you’ll have nothing but empty seats to look at behind you.

If you like GA twins, I highly recommend the stock Diamond DA62 with the DA62X mod. You get performance that’s right on par with the Baron, but you’ll do it while burning about half the fuel - and it looks so much better!

Payware:

The Kodiak and the Islander are both nice for their types, and the cargo versions of each have dynamic cargo that displays according to the weight entered in the loadout screen.

I tend to prefer the Kodiak just a little, because the cargo is all boxes, so I can imagine anything I want inside them, like seafood on ice going from Galveston to San Antonio or bottles of a certain adult beverage (that Bruce Wayne would enjoy) on a run from San Juan PR to the Sunset Bar and Grill on Maho Beach.

You missed the title — “on Xbox”

None of those mods are on offer for Xbox users.

I love amphibians, and waited FORVER for the flotiak and was not disappointed. I must say though the Beaver trounces everything in xbox on water for handling and being able to get above 65KT in the water without it going bonkers. I still haven’t flown it once off of floats though. You really get used to a visible moving copilot too in the aircraft(like the Kodiak). I’m REALLY impressed the Beaver got it included, for free. And keep feeling compelled to see where I can plop it down, even if your runway is only 3’wider than the wingspan, on one side…

A good sport plane that will challenge you more than a little bit is the RV14. Like the Kodiak, you get multiple editions for the same buy-in price, trike/taildragger, visible copilot, everything works, good flight model.

For interiors, I have 4-8 saved ALT views that put me in various passenger seats in just about every single GA aircraft I fly regularly, including the 208. The Kodiak with additional passengers is interesting to just sit in one of the rear seats and peer out the windows in cruise… The TBM I have one of the views in the rear facing executive seats.

The BN2 Islander is another must-have if you remotely like the type.
