Mouse cursor keep disappearing and control focus jumps between mouse cursor and window center

Mouse cursor keep disappearing and control focus jumps between mouse cursor and window center, thus extremely difficult to click cockpit controls and top menus, when a USB gamepad has connected. The gamepad didn’t have any buttons/axis assigned to view related functions.

Disconnecting the USB gamepad would make mouse cursor consistently appearing and able to interact with cockpit controls.

Reconnecting USB gamepad would revert to previously situation, i.e. mouse cursor flickering and focus jumping between window center and mouse cursor.

This is unrelated to Cockpit Interaction setting, both Locked and Legacy have same issue.

Same here, mouse cursor disappears for a while when changing views???

I still have this issue after the update, the cursor will disappear even when continuously clicking a button. After that the whole cursor doesn’t work and i cant interact with that button until i move the mouse again. Clicking is also mouse activity so i don’t get why it becomes inactive at all?

Very annoying. Why do they remove the cursor at all?

my mouse cursor disappears as soon as i rotate the view with the coolie hat on my joystick (funnily enough it stays on on moving up). usually it does reappeat in the top left corner (coordinates 0,0?). it works if i rotate the view with the mouse.

I had this issue after SU5 and the subsequent hotfixes. I fixed the problem by removing the mapping I had on the hat switch to look around on my X52 pro. I just want mapped it directly to the ‘look’ options in the sim and the problem has now gone.

Yeah, this is really annoying. I hope this gets fixed sooner rather than later.

I just experienced this mouse disappearing issue.
I was using FBW A320, navigating the plane’s menus to make sure the flight plan in the plane matches my plan.
I was slowly scrolling through the points by clicking the up arrow keys, after a few seconds my clicks were no longer registered. Indeed the mouse cursor had disappeared, therefore I could not interact with the plane.

I had to move the mouse around every couple of seconds to remind the game that I actually wanted to continue using the mouse.
This behaviour is annoying. Please Asobo, fix this…

This needs to be fixed asap. Incredibly frustrating

Same here, just disappears. I have to go the menu to compose with this issue.

Yep, add me to those affected. Up side (sort of) is at least I’m not alone and it’s not a system glitch that I have to track down.

Hope it gets acknowledged and fixed.

Same problem, needs to be fixed asap

Looks like it’s still not fixed, I still encounter these behavior in the latest version.

I tried to increase deadzone of all my analog axis, and it feels better, but still occurs.

Can we disable the behavior that make the mouse disappear on controller moving? Or is there a setting to toggle mouse cursor (make it permanently appear on screen) ?

Release note of upcoming patch and no fix for this bug.
It’s incredible how bad are they working

Hello, It’s been a year now sinds this topic is brought up.

I’ve been having the same issue here. When my usb-port is in use (wireless controller) my mouse will flicker. I am not able to click anything at all without having to spam it.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem now or is it fixed somehow?

Please let me know so I can have some nice flights again

Thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,

I am experiencing a similar issue.
Just bought the sim yesterday, fresh install, no settings changed whatsoever and straight from the get-go the cursor appears to be flickering in the cockpit view, or just not showing up at all, leaving me unable to operate the various dials, switches and knobs on the A320. However in the external view the cursor does show up and does not flicker.

When I unplug my PS4 controller, the cursor operates as intended, however whenever the PS4 controller is plugged back in, the problem persists. Does the solution to my problem lay within the settings of the game, or is this an actual bug.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I thought they haven’t modified/fixed the issue, but earlier I found that if I circle DualShock 4’s analog sticks at their extreme (i.e. doing “calibration” by going to all axis max/min), the mouse cursor would stop disappearing.

I know this is an old post, but I also had this issue today…with Kingair 350. Mouse in cockpit view, would continually bouse around, disappear etc, making it impossable to control buttons etc. The post regarding “dualshock” controller, got my attention. I have a PS4 controller attached. I picked it up and starting fumbling around with it…MSFS picked it up as a newly connected device, and I just saved the “default”. Went back into my flight and Presto…mouse it just fine now, does not disappear quickly, and the bouncing around has stoipped.?? Not sure if any other may benifit from this tidbit, but I am happier now I discovered this.

Turned out it was because my controller is getting older. My easy, quick fix was to go into Controls and look at the Sensitivity and you will see white axis values moving around. Add +1 Dead Zone until the white axis control stop moving. Problem solved.

I have the exact same problem. I’ve checked my controllers but they all seem fine without causing any “noise” on any of the assigned axes.

I’ve had this once before and that time, the problem went away after I restarted MSFS. This time though, that doesn’t fix the problem.

Quite annoying to say the least since it becomes close to impossible to manipulate buttons, knobs and switches in the cockpit when the cursor keeps vanishing/losing focus.

This issue is new to me and I’ve been using MSFS since it was first released. So not really sure what is going on here. Clearly something changed causing this issue, I just can’t figure out what that would be related. I did have a rather small MSFS update not long ago which IIRC was released together with the city update for Texas. Not sure if that could be related but guess not, judging by some of the posts in this thread where people had the same issue way back in the past.

If anyone else have seen this lately and found a cure, please let me know.
