Being a beta tester also assumes basic tools of the program work. You can’t test what you can’t play - the mouse issue is just more not paying attention to VR. Period.
Since the latest update today, after I quit a free flight and I’m back on the free flight world map, the mouse pointer now drags a track behind it, as if I were painting with a brush. Difficult to explain, but if other people see it too, they will know what I mean.
Yes is quite a funny minigame in it self… there is a sort of a rectangular screening mask where it doesn’t leave the traces for some reason…
Can this rectangle be the FR and giving a hint of the source of the issue?
This bug occurs only for VD users as far as i understand? Anyone with link connection has the same issue? If not, changing the title would be better to clarify.
The mouse trail bug happens for me too with a Pimax Super. I haven’t tested to see if it only happens on the right side of the menu screens. I have eye tracking foveated rendering on.
That is incorrect, I don’t use VD and have this issue
Also to be noted that that mouse trail appear in VR but not when actually in cockpit after your flight starts. Actually you can see the screen clearing immediately when actually hitting fly and the game switches to you normal VR in cockpit (or outside for walk around) view!
Yeah, link user here and same issue.
Same issue here, needs fixing hopefully soon.
My Pimax Crystal OG (no controllers enabled) works properly with mouse in the sim itself (Legacy Control mode). So apparently the bug triggering conditions are more complex. I can use the sim, and progress with beta testing.
However while in VR in menus, mouse sometimes leaves a trail - probably outside FFR region (seems like DFR/eye tracking is not supported in the menus).
Same issue for me as well. I am using Steam link and not VD so it is not related to VD. Had to leave the beta because of this unfortunately.
With some users not having the issue and somers do have the issue, my best g7ess is that there are various protocols how controllers get connected to the PC and fallbackto the mouse. one or more of them are not compatible with the changes of SU4.
They will fix it, im sure.
I don’t experience the mouse operation issue in the cockpit probably because I don’t use VR controllers at all with my Pimax Crystal OG. They lay forgotten on the shelf, always off.
Well then. Deactivating controllers is the current workaround for those affected.
I assume your controllers are powered off, which is the same as deactivating them.
SU4 seems to always priorize VR controllers and only activate the mouse when there are no controllers.
In VD you achieve this by deactivate “tracking controllers” in Streaming Menu. Others said that removing batteries worked as well.
And some users seem to have no problem at all.
I had a similar issue with SU3 when my throttle would not work unless i deactivate my vr controllers through controller options. I guess you are right, controllers are always prioritized.
I got this as well tonight, mouse leaving a trail.
Hi folks
Thanks for your detailed reports about this issue. This topic has now been changed to bug-logged after the development team were successfully able to reproduce the issue.
The MSFS Team
I have the same problem, also using VD. Interestingly, after a while, I get a Microsoft message saying that my device [not sure which one, if one even exists] has been disconnected. After that, the mouse works.
This fixed for me ( disabling auto tracking in the VRDesktop Streaming options)
EDIT This is more of a work around as once I turn it off, I cant then use the controllers in other games like Porta 2 VR
So ideally needs fixing properly
