Mouse Cursor Not Working in VR - v1.6.3.0

Having the same issue.

Here the same problem.

It would be good news if the two bugs (mouse not working, and “disconnected” pop-up) really are linked - hopefully solving one will solve the other.

Both bugs are really, really annoying.

I got the “device disconnected” in VR when I put my controllers aside and they go to sleep after a while.

I never considered it a bug.

Now my controllers are deactivated anyway, so not seeing this pop-up any longer.

missing mouse in vr?..no problem!! just take out battery from controller and mouse appear again..

. . . . and the controller stops working.

The bad design of the controls in FS mean that I cannot do everything with either the mouse alone or the controller alone - I need to use both.

VR is the forgotten stepchild of MSFS 2020 AND 2024.

It seriously seems as if no one even bothers to put on a VR headset before shipping anything

Yup same. No mouse function in VR mode in SU4 beta at the moment. And it seems that without mouse function, I cant seem to press the “Start” when spawning. Have to go 2d, click it and go back to VR or, dont start VR until I’ve clicked start

Even when my mouse is working (which it does occasionally), i still cannot press the “Ready to Fly” button.

It looks like these are two different (and recent) problems.

Pimax Crystal Light here. Mouse shows up on the screen but doesn’t engage with anything. I can launch to the “Ready to Fly” screen, then can’t click on the “Ready to Fly” button.

For now the workaround is exit VR engage flight from the 2D side of things, then re-enter VR. From that point everything works as it should.

Once things are running, the VR experience (at least for me) is as good as it’s ever been. Seems promising!

Folks, the discussion about QA testing is Off-topic, so those posts have been removed. Please restrict your comments to those addressing the subject of this topic:

Mouse Cursor Not Working in VR

Also note that this issue is bug-logged , which means that the issue has been reproduced by the test team.

Thank You.

Sme here. Using Pimax controller for motion compensation. The controller is visible and the mouse not working.

if they actually took VR serious this would NEVER happend!
It must be the simplest test in the world and still it’s introduced - no matter if this is in beta or not.

Except the bug doesn’t seem to happen to everyone, so could be missed if VR wasn’t tested on Virtual Desktop. Hopefully that’s something they now run through going forward.

There are bound to be some errors in the Beta. It’s not because they “don’t care about VR”. Maybe save getting mad for if it doesn’t get fixed in the next build - it’s bug logged, so they know how to reproduce it and it should be squashed soon.

My issue is somewhat different to others, but I believe it is still the same issue.

When I start with my favourite plane in 2D then I can happily click on all the switches. When I switch to 3D, then some switches work and some can be highlighted by the mouse but can’t be switched.

I am using VD, Meta Quest 3 on an Nvidia card.

Best thing I can think of is that somewhere along the initialisation of the switches in 3D it hits an error and stops. Hence why the majority work and some don’t.

I find that when controls stop responding to the mouse (speaking Fenix A320) the mouse cursor remains as a hand. Pressing the right mouse button turns the cursor back into an arrow but there is some brief view jump in the cockpit and the mouse stays in position. I haven’t found some binding that might be causing the jump but at least I can use the mouse again. Ensure you are over some inactive part of the cockpit when you click that right button.

I had held off posting to this thread for days as the issue seemed to have been covered.

So I posted my slightly different fault.

Five minutes later, it is fixed!

There was a VD update yesterday for my Meta Quest 3 headset, version 79.1031 build 5115411.17490.520 . I am running this in conjunction with VD Streamer 1.34.8 .

Now all of the switches that couldn’t be switched now can be.

So, I think that everybody that uses VD should see if there is an update for you and update and then report whether the issue is still there for you.

Now, it should be stated that the mouse trail issue is still outstanding as I got it when still in VR and tried to end the flight. This is the first time I have had this issue.

I think the developers need the feedback to see if the issue still exists for some or whether it is fixed for ALL VD users. It should help narrow down the issue.

VD has NOTHING to do with the bug, it happens for those of us not using that as well

I can appreciate that. My point was purely whether EVERYBODY that reported that they used VD had been fixed after the latest update.

I thought that I had made it clear, but apparently not.

I also confirm this bug is there for meta link. Once you put your controllers on something and let it stay there for a while it gets disconnected and then you can have your mouse back. Pretty annoying.
