This is something that has changed in SU4. Originally, you could use the mouse and controllers interchangeably, switching from one to the other immediately. Now the mouse won’t work for a period after the controller has been active, including if it has been jogged slightly. A definite regression.
Just for my own investigation, I decided to try the Meta Link with my Quest 3 headset.
Surprisingly, I found that with the software update that the mouse worked as expected. So, with the latest software, as mentioned above, the mouse works perfectly fine using either VD or Link.
Could somebody else that had the same issue retry after applying the software update to see if they experience the same as me or if they still have the issue.
What software update do you mean?
As I typed a few posts ago there was a Meta Quest update on the 15th.
Yeah, he hasn’t considered it important enough since then. I only do free flights without a flight plan. I can’t wait to see that fixed.
No VR fixes in 1.6.7? So this is not fixed yet?
The only issue I see remaining is the mouse trails when escaping to the menus while still in VR. A distraction at most which will get fixed.
strongly hoping
yeah i think missing mouse cursor isnt fixed in the 1.6.7 yet.. finally able to free some time to try.. nadaa.. but im still able to click things with mouse.. just that the vr cursor is dominant
As a workaround, for SteamVR, Reverb G2 and the Oasis OpenXR driver this has worked,
Exit VR mode in the sim (ctrl-tab)
Shut down SteamVR
Shut off both controllers completely
Re-enable VR mode (ctrl-tab)
This usually brings back my mouse cursor
Can we get an update as to why this hasn’t been fixed yet please? I (for one) cannot test the product suitably until these serious issues are fixed, it’s making the whole beta pointless currently.
Thanks
Maybe I am missing something, but this release, again, does not have anything fixed regarding the logged VR bugs…
Hi @MarcG5192
Volunteer Moderators are not Microsoft or Asobo employees, so have no insight to the schedule of bug fixes or releases.
Errr, I fail to see how re-posting something 35 mins after you originally posted it - and 10 mins after you got your reply - is actually worth it.
Good grief can we just get an answer to the question please? I asked again and this time asked Seedy directly as the moderator above made it clear he couldn’t answer, but Seedy can.
Not sure how this is useful when you use controllers for other things.
I’m not the moderator, nor Asobo employee, but I would say that this is very early stage of the beta testing and Asobo is probably not prioritizing VR high, as it’s being used by relatively small percentage of users. Hopefully reproducing and potentially fixing this issue will not drop from Asobo list. As the volunteer beta testers we are not obliged to continue the testing, neither Asobo is obliged to post any beta fixes schedules.
BTW - mouse coursor works for me, so it’s probably more complex issue to reproduce.
Does it work after you’ve touched/moved the VR controller? Of course it works fine until you touch that. But as soon as you do, the mouse goes away.
I don’t use VR controllers. I fly with Pimax Crystal OG, yoke, throttle, pedals, DIY knob/switch/buttons panel and a tiny bit of mouse. This way of flying I find the most immersive and resembling the real world flying in small GA plane.
