Mouse freelook axis crosstalk - overly sensitive

Worked for me on PC. Must be something janky with Xbox. Maybe someone with a console can chime in.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

• Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Can confirm the mouse seems to wiz and accelerate too fast in freelook much faster than in MSFS2020. I tried with a variety of mouse speeds in accessibility, mouse acceleration at minimum, mouse momentum at minimum, and various mouse speed settings in the cockpit camera settings pop up. Nothing seems to keep the mouse from accelerating erradically. Please use same speeds as MSFS2020 to make the transition easier for pilots making the switch to 2024.

I’m hitting the sack but had the same issue. I’m thinking I’ll look at the mouse settings in 2024 tomorrow and see if there’s a sensitivity setting on MSFS for it. Not sure atm but worth a shot.

Yes, exactly the same here on Xbox X, basically stops me from using MSFS 2024 at all. I use the mouse for looking around and interacting with the cockpit. At setting 10 nothing moves at 11 freelook goes wild

Doesn’t work

Good to know I am not the only one to have this issue. I also can not use the 2024 at all due to those freelook issues. I am on Xbox and use mouse to look around and interact with all the buttons and switches. The freelook is terribly fast, stops randomly and generally it is impossible for me to look around like I can in MSFS 2020. Makes it very hard to operate most aircraft.

Does anyone know how to invert the settings for the mouse so that it works for a right handed mouse? Also I noticed today that my Xbox Series X is not saving the settings on the flight sim either and that I have to reconfigure mouse, T-Flight Hotas every time I load the sim, not sure if anyone else is having this issue.

• Using the series X platform, standard controller, logitech K220 wireless mouse and keyboard. Followed the same troubleshooting procedures and there is no change in the mouse sensitivity.

Howdy folks! +1 from me here - have the same issue with a wired mouse on Xbox X. When I set sensitivity and momentum options to 10 I am not seeing any difference, still moving the cam a million miles an hour when I move my mouse 1 mm

Same issue here. Xbox Series X, wireless mouse. Freelook is completely broken and no amount of fiddling with settings seems to help

Same here! I share this link where you can see that with the slightest movement the camera makes it goes crazy, and well…

This is not a problem of servers or streaming…

That is bad. Mine isn’t like that. Mine will just whip around way to far.

Sad for hear that, i can’t even play, the camera movement looks like a rabid dog ahahaha it’s insane

I was advised by another to try to this and it fixed my mouse issue for right handed. On your Xbox console - open SETTINGS (The actual console - NOT in the sim) - Select DEVICES & CONNECTIONS - Select MOUSE - UNCHECK the box beside “SWITCH PRIMARY & SECONDARY MOUSE BUTTONS” - and this resolved the inverted mouse issue… on a weird note it also fixed the other settings not saving as well. I hope this helps some.

I always have momentum at zero, it was one of the things I changed before even loading in.

I didn’t use the hat switch at all when this happened. After I restarted for a 3rd time the bug was mostly gone. So hopefully restarting a few times will mostly fix it for everyone.
