OMG a game that had zero testing before launch is completely broken. What a surprise! Nobody saw it coming! The second I’ve learned the game will not have any beta testing of any kind made me not pre order the game, since it was obvious it was going to be terrible at launch. I will wait a few months before buying in order for the people who pre-ordered a game that had 0 testing to test out the game, so Asobo fixes it’s mess of a game that they deliberately didn’t want to publicly beta test
On XBX
I’m really struggling with looking around in the cockpit. The mouse is either stuck or moves so fast it’s impossible to use. The keyboard bindings need a list somewhere so we can work out what’s changed - you can load a 2020 KB map but if I’m right you need to do that for every aircraft to get it all back.
Changing mappings has caused the sim to freeze six times this morning.
We can only hope this is a server overload issue - at least with a KB, Mouse & gamepad in 2020 it just worked fine, even basic KB command like F1-F4 to control the throttle have been removed.
I thought F10 was mapped to a view, however, my plane went from sat on the runway to 3000ft then the sim froze again.
I don’t know what to think. I may just go for a nice easy flight in 2020…
I can only agree with the content so far.
The state in which the MSFS 2024 is being presented to customers is indeed a great disappointment.
It is completely incomprehensible that
- the free flight from cold+dark is so impossible to access
- the settings for the current hardware cannot be adopted from FS 2020
- the general interface is still so terribly convoluted
result: first of all, use everything again in MSFS 2020 because it works .
It’s a shame that this is a missed opportunity to win over MSFS 2020 fans for MSFS 2024.
Im definately not buying 2024, imo Asobo completely ignored what is important for “Flight Simmers”
I saw all this coming which is why I didnt Pre Order and wont purchase until its all fixed and has features I was waiting for. Eventually the other Sims will Update their Graphics which are superior to this “Game” in many many ways.
To all those that Pre Ordered, I hope you are enjoying the Game and fingers crossed the Devs actually fix things and not just add more handheld Missions for Casual Gamers.
I am also having big trouble to just do a flight. My aircraft does not move from my parking position even though my parking brake is off and chocks off.
Also the Satellite images seem… not correct. everything looks so wrong and unreal. Yes we have 3d Trees and grass which is nice. But textures are hideous and many details are missing or inaccurate. Like loading into an african strip with light gravel is being displayed as white bright chalk layer. Train tracks canceld out and are being displayed as… grass.
All the key assignements are off if not to be said wrong.
Iam a bit shocked of the release state.
Never pre order. Never.
My plan was to buy it after few weeks. Might happend after few months.
For me he worst thing is that I cannot load or save flights. FS 2020 was not very good for that. This version is stil worse because the save/load function is entirely missing. If I knew that I wouldn’t have bought the sim
Feels like an early beta, at best. Patting on the back and all, but this is no where near production ready.
I might actually read your posts if they weren’t such walls of text.
I know you have something to say, but dang…
Paragraphs, my man.
I agree with you my dear! Right here on this forum before the launch when the prices were announced I complained about these points and I was censored by the fanboys and by Asobo/MICROSOFT because they thought it was not good for the community to hear the truth and not be deceived. However, I warned here that this would happen now where are the fanboys to say that I was wrong? If in doubt many of them are here now criticizing. This launch was regrettable! Terrible!
It’s not a sim that just needs a touch of the oven, they practically released it raw, on Xbox as it is it doesn’t take off and I’m glad I didn’t spend a cent on it. For now I’ll continue spending my time and money on fs 2020.
With respect - you should not have chosen a small gate for an airliner.
Hence the walkway could not line up with the door.
Free flight in a busy airport is probably not realistic in a big plane, unless you follow procedure, which starts with a flight plan, which then determines which terminal you use (international/local etc).
A Cessna away from the main terminals is fine for a free flight, where it would be parked.
I asked if it was skippable to someone above and now I’m seeing from you that it’s not. Wow, unless they change that then I don’t know, I hate to say that kills the entire game for me but they need to fix that. I mean, there’s a lot of stuff they need to fix but I’ll add that one to the list.
Perhaps it’s better to say it’s half skippable. You don’t have to actually complete the walk-around inspection, but do have to remove covers and chocks. I agree being able to start as you do in 2020 would be a good option to have.
It also doesn’t help that, once you are in, even at max settings on a very good gaming rig, it looks terrible - really “bitty” and the landscape seems such low res. What were they thinking? It’s a total mess.
Agreed. Well stated. So disappointing.
But again, I ask, how is that ok to launch? It’s not. Jorg and Asobo need to be held accountable on this. There’s a lot of things broken or not even fixed that we saw in the “alpha” and we were all told “it was just for a stress test”
Clearly there’s something bigger going on (ie a need to hit a marketed launch date even when the product isn’t ready)
Yes this. And you can’t convince me that this is due to launch day server nonsense. The sim just isn’t fully complete - they somehow launched an incomplete buggy sim that is worse than its previous iteration.
