MSFS 2020 and Navigraph

Is possible connect Navigraph with the simulator, or you have to wait?

The second option, as it stands, i think.

I understand that the techies at Navigraph are talking to their equivalents at Asobo, with a view to getting Navigraph data to replace the NAvBlue data and to allow the charts/moving maps to work, for Navigraph subscribers.

Moving map already works fine with Navigraph, make sure you have the latest version of SimLink installed or whatever they call it.

dumb question, what does the numbers/letters under an aircraft represent?

aircraft type | Location | altitude

1- I assume this happens because of an IFR flight plan? Many don’t have location shown.
2- What does location represent? origin or destination?

I’d guess destination, as i recently saw an AI GA aircraft constantly circling over a location where a missing airport, PAUN, should have been and “PAUN” was in the centre position of its label.

I felt quite sad for it.

Yes Navigraph works with Microsoft Flight Simulator.

But it does so through Simlink which, like all 3rd party software, uses the broken SimConnect API to talk to the game.

This means you will probably experience noticable frame rate drops and stuttering.

The only solution is to petition Microsoft to fix SimConnect ASAP, so we can use these services.

Check out this thread for more info.

I’ve tried today i small flight from LSGG to LSZH with VPilot (VATSIM) and Navigraph Charts connected. No frame rate drops and stuttering so fare…

The only thing is, that i not seen the other Traffic from VATSIM…:frowning:

What about FMS data to the sim does navigraph have that available yet ?

No need to petition. They literally said they’re addressing this in the patch coming out this week!

You’re literally replying to a week old post. And yes, you should still petition until it is actually fixed. It is important that Microsoft understands how many is affected by this problem, even though they are working on it. It helps them prioritize in the future.

I tried Simlink (installed to fsx path in installer, because MSFS path missing) and not noticed any fps drops and work fine. I hope Navigraph start to release VFR maps for better experience

Didn’t they promised up to date AIRAC and charts via NavBlue in the official videos?..

So if they are honest, we shouldn’t need Navigraph for long…

There are no charts or useful VFR maps in MSFS, so Navigraph is still very much needed. They are also expanding to proper VFR maps in the future too, that will be very welcome if its world-wide.

Microsoft gets it’s aeronautical data (airways, FMS, etc.) from NAVBLUE, which is an Airbus subsidiary. Read about the partnership here:

This press release say they will supply the sim with their Charts+ service some time “post launch” which is, you guessed it, charts.

According to their website their Charts+ service includes Aerodrome, Taxi, Area, Radar, SID or Departure, STAR or Arrival, Instrument Approach, MSA or Terrain depiction, terminal charts, enroute charts, plotting charts, and ETOPS charts.

How many of these would actually be in the sim is anybody’s guess, but we’ll find out

Therefore that cooperation is.

I think this kind of service isn’t standard for developer of sim, is simply service provided by 3-rd party developer. In other side, Navigraph started selection of existing subscription owners to check it’s Beta FS2020 build  very apreciated, something is here finally…

I had some subscription previously with Airbus Charts and NAV DB system for sim and closed it after month test. I like typical Jepp charts from 1997 and therefore Navigraph is my choice. All depends to what pilots like. On other side there was no difference with NAV data inside sims with Airbus (Lido???) and Navigraph, only charts are very perfect (Jepp/Navigraph) for me as it’s look and system.

Well as long as the navigation data in the base game itself gets updated regularly, we should be able to use whatever up-to-date charts we please.

What’s good about the NAVBLUE partnership is that you don’t have to have a Navigraph subscription to use updated real world charts, real world planning tools or get an updated FMS. It’ll all be there in the sim eventually.

Can anyone tell me how to set a key bind that opens my navigraph on the screen within msfs? I don’t have a second monitor to pop it out to.

Ok,

but how you’ll have that each cycle update? Therefore is important to know how that cooperation NavBlue with MS works. definitelly we need each cycle (month) to have updated data. It can be maybe done automatically but also user option to not update is also ok.
