ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
The “Toggle Autopilot Master” function does not seem to work on the Airbus A320Neo V2 in MSFS 2024. It will engage the autopilot, but not disengage it. I’ve tried every combination of mappings but can’t find a way to set one button to toggle AP1 on/off
If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
Airbus A320 inibuilds V2
[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
- Fly the Airbus A320 V2
- Try to use a button mapped to “Toggle Autopilot Master” - it will enable the autopilot, but won’t toggle it back off. You have to click the AP1 button with a mouse to disengage it
- I went back to MSFS2020 and checked the button mappings and functionality there and confirmed it works as expected, so it seems to be a bug with 2024
YOUR SETTINGS
If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.
What peripherals are you using, if relevant:
Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, all button mappings have been cleared out for testing purposes

I have exactly the same issue. It also affects the A330 and the A321 LR.

The toggle function is broken,as a physically impaired person I rely heavily on this function because I can’t reliably use the mouse in cockpit or anywhere else inside or outside the sim.In 2020 toggle worked up until update 14,after that using a joystick keybind would only work in one direction, outside view and I would need another keybind to switch back. This is not toggling as I understand it and needs urgent investigation.Further to that toggling the ATC window is no longer possible as the option in settings has been removed.Why?..

Hm interesting - I use the FBWA32NX in 2020 and the Toggle binding definitely works as expected there. Kind of silly it works on a third party aircraft but is broken in the official Asobo planes

It seems different users are affected in varying ways.I still dont understand why there is no option to close theATC window, only the option to open it and the toggle option no longer exists. My frustration is amplified many times by my pesky tremor…

OK. I have found the answer (for me).
In 2020 the FD button automatically comes on. In 2024 it doesn’t. Press the FD button and autopilot works!
My main problem now is the mad mouse in Freeview on XBox. Thank you Atif Ahmad on Youtube for his excellent recent video pointing this out.
Oh man, is it really pilot error? Ugh!
Is there also any way to get the altimeter to default to InHg?
Don’t think so because the META output is the other thing!
I have the same problem too. Autopilot in all available Airbus does not work. FD button doesn’t seem to have an effect on anything.
Asobo fix this!!!

there is… don’t use the “display ATC” binding… use the “Open Communications Panel” binding. This will toggle the atc open/closed.
as far as AP… you want to bind a key to Toggle Disengage Autopilot. in the 320 hit it once to disconnect AP, then again to clear the warning. this would mimic the red sidestick button.
the namings of these bindings are misleading. open comms is a toggle? toggle disengage? I wonder if these are translations from french or something.

You should only need to press the red button once to disconnect. It should have 3 beeps, followed by 3 shorter beep/clicks thereafter.
In FS2020, i set this up as ‘Autopilot Disconnect’ and it works.
In FS2024, i use the same binding, but i only now hear the 3 initial beeps.
For some reason as well, Toggle Autopilot in FS2024 (for me at least) turns it off but immediately back on.
Thanks for that,I now have a toggle for ATC.It however is borked in another way,if I open the window to select an airport for landing, all I see is the last communication I had with ATC,GRRRRR!! I fly manually and demure from flying airliners and never use autopilot…
I can enable AP1 but cant confirm altitude, heading or speed plz help🙏
I have exactly the same problem where it stays in the "heading mode"And I can’t get it back into the managed mode. Both with FD on or off. It won’t get back into managed mode and follow the flightplan. Had this issue on the A321, A330 and the Beluxa XL as well.
Do you have a solid line on your MFD ?
On the video few post above, the line is dotted which seems strange, maybe something is not right in your flight plan config.
If AP doesn’t know the route, NAV mode and managed altitude can’t be enabled (and don’t forget FD On).
Bonjour,
Same issue here. To go around it I assigned the same button to :
TOGGLE AUTOPILOT MASTER ---------> BUTTON 1
TOGGLE DISENGAGE AUTOPILOT------> BUTTON 1
I have to press and hold the button 1 a couple of seconds to engage the autopilot
To disengage it press the button 1 briefly. For now…
How do you do this in the button mapping? I use joystick button 6 on TCA. Not sure what option to choose to set it the way you’re describing. Thanks for any info
