The other settings categories (General, Assistances, etc) all have a “Reset to Defaults” button. However, the Controls category doesn’t.
While learning how to configure the controls with the new system, I made a mess and even managed to somehow delete one of the default profiles for one controller. It would be helpful to have a “Reset to Defaults” for the Controls category as well.
Please add a “Reset to Defaults” button to the Controls settings.
Same here. I am considering uninstalling the whole sim, but I’m terrified that I’ll be in the 97% club again.
That doesn’t help, because all the controller configurations including your changes are saved in the cloud, and will be streamed back on each simulator start.
Hi, And I just accidently created 4 references to my joystick in the Device list. No clue how I accomplished this and no clue how to delete them. None of them seem to work now. I was watching YOUTUBEs on how to dial in key bindings and boom. Agree that they are in the cloud so I filled out a Zen Desk ticket to start from scratch. I’ve been simming since BA Sublogic FS and never had this issue - bummer. Glad my 2020 is performing 100%.
My Esc key does not function any more. I did some changes to a few buttons. These runs perfectly. But suddenly I can no logner abort or reset a flight, but have to restart the game. The Esc is ok until I have started a new flight. But no flight can be terminated.
I had this problem too on Xbox. A console reboot fixed it.
We need the ability to totally reset controllers and also be able to clear the asignments that the sim sets, which I don’t want
They are stubborn to learn from other sims. DCSW and xplane have so many good things to be picked up from yet we still have no Force Trim Button, and Trim Cyclic left and right are called increase/decrease lateral trim…
DCSW has a very good scheme for resetting the controls… you can reset a category, or just one controller in that category, you can empty them the same way or return just one control to default assignment if you wish.
MSFS2024 is really simplistic and is due to too much catering to xbox folx that never ever look at controls anyway.

Somehow, during the setup, I accidentally deleted the key binding for keyboard 2024. As a result, all my interactions are broken, and I don’t know how to revert it.

I found in a video the access to some aircraft controllers in the folder c:\users\yourname\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\WASM\MSFS2024\microsoft-aircraft-a310-300\work\ThrottleData.ini and this for each aircraft

This is horrible. They basically give you the ability to cripple your game with one mistake. Coming from a 60 year old who’s been gaming for 30 years, I have never dealt with a poorer designed interface.
I started down this dark path while trying to figure out how to get my y axis reversed on my controller, which I’ve never figured out.
Yes my control settings are now borked and I don’t seem able to fix them. In some cases I can’t change from the 2024 default settings and can’t get to the 2020 settings. When I load an aircraft, the cockpit camera is looking at the ceiling and rotates counterclockwise and I can’t stop it. Has anyone been able to fix this? Does a reinstall of the sim work? Help please.

I did that, and the cloud restored all of the settings that I botched up. Instead of “ESC Save and Close” at the bottom of every menu, I have “JOYSTICK BUTTON 2 Save”. I think the " and Close" part is outside of the allotted space to display it. 
We need a way to reset BOTH the local settings AND the cloud saved settings to default so we can fix things after we have learned our way around. Now that I’ve got the ‘system’ figured out, I think I could do it without royally screwing things up now.
Same here, the controller settings is another terrible display of sloppiness.
It’s so complicated to set up. I spend more time setting up keyboard/controler settings than I do flying.
I use SPADNext and no problem at all, all my plans and configure are always avaliable, also after updates etc.
