MSFS 2024 Embedded Replay Tool discussion

FCR “appears” to be working great for me today. I just did a landing in the A380 and the spoilers even deployed! I didn’t deploy the reversers though but will test that tomorrow.

So other than the master caution light being lit and the ATC going silent, everything appeared to look greatly improved compared to my progress check a few days ago. I was able to change views during playback and even the AI aircraft were re-created and were all where they were when recorded, both on the ground and in the air.

I’m cautiously optimistic.

No, the reversers don’t open, sadly.

It’s hard to get used to, but if you get used to it, you can make a nice video edit after.
I don’t like that if there’s traffic at the airport, it’s also in your replay
(for example, if a plane takes off while you’re making the replay, it will show it in your replay, even if it wasn’t there when you landed).
The best of course would be to have some default cameras like tower cam, etc like the old gen simulators.

Yeah the AI planes can be a pain. Sometimes they’re where they’re supposed to be but most of the time they’re in the wrong place.

Hi, I purchased an incredible helicopter for the FS2024, the Huey UH1 from Taogs Hangar.

Flying it in VR is wonderful. I highly recommend it. I recorded a 20-minute flight over Sedona with the FS2024’s stock FCR tool.

The first day I recorded it, I played it back, and everything was perfect. The next day I played it back, and upon starting the flight, two alarms went off on the helicopter: RPM LIMIT and FIRE.

The engine sound begins to decrease while the flight replay plays normally. However, the sound I hear is the helicopter’s RPMs dropping to a minimum.

However, the recorded flight continues to play normally. In other words, the actual video playback doesn’t match the sound I experience from the rotor RPMs. In the flight playback, I check the RPM control in the cockpit, and it’s at 100%.

The instrument panel indicator shows the correct RPM, but the sound isn’t correct. If I stop the playback and take control of the Huey UH1, the sound immediately corrects itself, and the rotor speeds are audible again.

Any idea what the source of this problem is and how to fix it ???

Thanks you so much.

Greetings

The embedded replay tool has some bugs.
I encounter exactly what you are describing in a number of aircraft. The workaround that works for me, is to start the flight wherever you recorded the replay, startup the aircraft, then start the replay and it usually works okay.

To be honest I bought FCR for 2020 and it never worked properly for me. I use a free app instead and now do the same in 2024. I have no idea why Asobo picked this software as a band aid solution. It really is full of bugs and I suspect was only used as a quick fix to enable 2024 to meet its release date.

Thank you so much, I will try it, greetings.

Please can you tell me which recording application works well for MFS2024? Even if it’s paid, as long as the flight recordings and playbacks work well for me, that’s all I ask. Thank you so much, greetings.

2 free applications - Flight recorder and Sky dolly both work OK (at least for me) and Sky dolly has regular updates, Flight Recorder is more basic and also has updates from time to time. They are NOT integrated into MSFS but run as a separate app outside the MSFS application, that is the main difference with FCR . Both available at Flightsim.to.

Since SU2, I can now move the embedded Flight Control Replay window to my second monitor.

Thanks to the teams who fixed this issue.

The replay tool doesn’t record flight control properly if the flight is done via autopilot
The flaps and landing gear also have issue (not sure if it is linked to autopilot or not)
MSFS 2024 - EDHI-LFBO - Beluga XL - replay - landing

Yes I have also experienced CTDs when using this, however not everytime.

This is the only thing that has caused CTDs so far in the sim for me.

Sigh* The two things I was salivating for prior to release with this title was the 738Max and a vastly improved over MSFS2020, replay tool. August 2025 and we still really don’t have either in a fully working state.

I’ve just spent the last hour messing around with it for the first time since launch and the interface still isn’t very appealing or user-friendly for me personally. Also switching between the fly-by cam and sky-cam not only changes the livery of my A332 but appears to change the entire model and it’s landing configuration to gears up and reversers extended prior to touchdown. Plus I just had the CTD everyone else is having too.

Have there been no official updates/announcements on future plans for the replay feature yet? I can’t seem to find the official thread for it and it feels like it’s just been forgotten about just like it was in MSFS2020.

Only just discovered this tool somehow.

Impressed that it’s built in. Nice you can change views so in an airliner you can “sit” by the window near the wing.

Issues, only just tried it with PMDG 737, the engine sounds are “stepped” meaning there’s no smooth transition between the throttle setting.

The airspeed on the bus shows about 59 knots approach speed on landing which wasn’t the case, that’s fine because the HUD shouldn’t be on for decent viewing. Problem is on either of the extra views, flyby and sky cam all you can hear is the stall/stick shaker because it “thinks” you’re actually flying at that speed

Hi folks !
I want confirm that skycam and flyby don’t change flight model or other part .

For the livery change and for other things I cannot tell you if and when will release a new update we need sync with Microsoft , anyway I m internally analyzing enhancements and fixes .

could be very useful that you ll write a Private message to
me with your suggestion for eventual future update and I ll collect and propose to Microsoft. I love talk with users and I m open to hear feedback from you

Thanks for your continuous support . I m fully focused on understand your wish list

Btw I hope that Window popup issue now it is gone . For Fenix and Pmdg enhancements about airspeed I have in my wishlist .

If I ll have chance to continue , improve and work with Asobo will be a great thing .

Thanks
Fabio

Anyone else have an issue with not being able to scroll down once the box is filled with saved replays?

This I imagine is an Xbox (series X) issues as most UI/scroll bar issues tend to be.

I think you can try move the height of the window (enlarging it )

We will see

You can’t sadly on Xbox (window resize to view recordings lower down the list). Neither is there a scroll bar.

I’ve attached a screenshot
