This is great. The only thing not working for me was it does not fill in the correct cruise speed and altitude for the selected aircraft or fill in any fuel usage data at all.
I planned a flight and selected the C172. It showed me at 325 kts at FL330 with zero fuel burn. Hopefully that will come soon.
The measure distance button is inop also. When that is fixed it will have something that Navigraph still lacks.
Flight Planner looks very good. I have created a flight and saved it, but EFB cannot find any plan. When I select âLoad flight plan,â there is nothing there. What am I doing wrong?
Folks who are not seeing their flight plan in the 2024 EFB, perhaps go back to the flight planner? Apparently (to me) saving it was not straightforward, so check to see if it saved at all. Iâm not in the sim at the moment, but yesterday I had to find the right way to save a flight plan.
This tool looks very promising. Some things are not yet there, like correct fuel calculation, but these can be added easily.
I am an Airbus guy. I can create a flight plan, add SID and STARs etc. but âsend to avionicsâ is not doing anything (in the in-game tablet). Would I have to choose the right avionics first?
The A320N is connecting to Simbrief only, as it seems.
If they are keeping the charts updated here and in the airplanes, Iâd say goodbye to Navigraph. Wondering what these guys have to say about the built-in tooling.
Send to avionics is working in default GA models so this is probably airliner specific, or specific to the v2, as you suggest. Nice to have new chart options and tools. Keeping my Navigraph subscription.
As a virtual pilot since FS2000, I am excited about the two new tools, both the EFB and the Flight Planner. I will describe the negative points for possible improvements:
EFB
Many charts are missing. Important airports in my region do not have any charts. This also forces me to use third-party software to view procedures. Ex: SBCO. An air base or SBKP.
In a career mode flight, I cannot load my planned flight.
With the possible improvement of ATC in the future, I was able to understand the initial idea: to create the flight plan in the EFB and file it so that ATC knows my intentions. It turns out that many times I file the plan and ATC does not recognize it. The option to âRequest IFR clearanceâ does not appear. It still understands that I am VFR.
When we make a mistake in filing and have already requested clearance, when canceling the flight plan I cannot request IFR clearance again. This problem already existed in FS2020 (I did this by importing a flight plan file in âLoad Flightâ. You need to allow me to request ATC for clearance again when I file a new flight plan in the EFB.
In general, I thought the idea of ââintegration was great. Especially when there are improvements in ATC and I can send my flight plan to ATC and they understand my intentions without having to go back to the menu, as happened in FS2020.
Flight Planner
In VFR planning, I want to leave from small airports, but they simply donât exist. (SSNH, SIXE). I understand that for flight charts we need a third-party provider, but isnât it possible to call FS2024âs own database? Little Navmap does that.
Allow me to see my aircraft in real time synchronized with the simulator. (I understand the difficulty)
I like the idea of ââplanning, saving and being able to open it in my EFB. The community has wanted full integration for a long time, But why canât I do this on a career flight? Iâve been a developer for 20 years and I understand that the buttons were blocked because the user couldnât change the Origin and Destination, but this could be solved with a simple message: âThe origin and destination of the loaded flight plan do not correspond to your mission.â
I confess that some things, if they werenât planned, will be difficult to do, but I believe others will be simple. Anyway, I really like the idea of ââthe tools and congratulations to everyone involved. Thank you for the opportunity to express myself. I sincerely hope to be heard.
For clarityâs sake, I have been opening the EFB in the sim and sending it to avionics there. That is working for the GA planes (not tried it yet in any of the airliners).
Itâs annoying that Xbox or Asobo didnât communicate that the EFB floght planner doesnât work for all planes.
Yesterday I wasted 90min trying to sync flight planes to inibuilds a320, a330 and a310. I thought I was a newb or made a mistake. However the feature of sending flight plans to avionics donât currently work in flight simulator 2024.
But then I tested sending flight plans to an airbus 747 and they worked.
This is a flagship feature of flight simulator 2024 and I am baffled that it doesnât work perfectly out of the box.
Asoboâs Jorge Neumann hosted numerous youtube videos in the lead up to release. EFB not working with Airbus planes should have been communicated as there are tens of thousands of people who own Thurstmaster airbus Captain X and want to fly airbus planed in the new game.
Simbrief wonât be made redundant. The built in EFB will have limitations and quirks. These will irritate professional pilots and hardcore enthusiasts who are happy with their current work flows.
Overtime MS will likely improve the EFB and the gap with Navigraph might close a bit. However MS will unlikely steam roll Navigraph. They donât want to give third party developers the impression that MS will at any point copy their work and render them redundant.
Okay so am I the only one who canât seem to get the flight plan to save on the website? Itâs pretty aggravating that when you name the plan and hit the save button nothing happens! I just wasted another hour of my life that Iâll never get back on this sim
I cannot seem to file any flight plans⌠I am trying to fly Heathrow to Glasgow & The sim doesnât recognise any departure procedure aside from direct or VFR. It is not picking up flight plans created through its own website. Is anyone having the same issue? Have you overcome it?
Maybe check to see if one needs to log into the flight planner again in order to save? No idea how long oneâs login lasts. Could be worth checking out?
Tonight I had a flight from Zurich to Amsterdam with the Longitude. Everything was planned by the web interface, saved, then loaded by the EFB, sent to avionics and ATC.
Having LIDO charts for free itâs a huge bonus.
The only thing i miss is having charts on MFD, but I think is a matter of time.
I has a great problem. i make all plam. in msfs planer or simbirief. when i load the flp in the tabled, only read airports, not appear the airways, not ways points. not apears sid, not star.
