It’s you and the rest of the users.
You are not alone.
This product is terrible and will not be finished before MSFS2028 comes out or they rollback to MSFS2020 and finish that.
Sadly the career mode is far from usable in many instances. The biggest flaw is that career mode is about claiming credits to open up functionality. Doing the work and not getting credit is massively negative and will loose users quickly.
If Asobo wants to create a gamified element then it needs to ensure that it actually works in a positive way or they will loose people quickly.
Sadly, it now seems like we’ll be waiting until 2025 them to solve anything more?
I am certain that they did not test a freaking thing before release. I really hoped they have learned from the FS2020 release, apparently not, we are all unpaid beta testers again… R66 parking brake, what a joke. I will never pre-order again, absolutely ridiculous.
The red flags where there pre-launch:
-Overly restricted public test one month’s before launch. They tried to brush it off as “it’s an alpha. The final game is waaaay better”. Like who launches an alpha so close to launch.
-No xbox footage shown pre launch.
-No reviews of the release candidate in he days leading up to launch.
This game is intentionally designed to frustrate the customer base to the maximum extent possible.
3 weeks of not being able to launch the game consistently.
Update 3: I can finally log in, but most of my controller profile assignments got wiped and I have to reassign most of them.
I was able to fly a few missions though. Before:
I decide to fly a Gold Diamond VIP mission from SFSO to KLAX to check function on my now reassigned controller assignments.
After 20 minutes of preflight planning ( Simbrief, Navigraph, and setting 737, I’m clear to start engines after pushback).
After starting the Eng No.1, My Aircraft and ALL buildings and objects start slamming 500ft up and down.
I am stuck in an endless loop of “You Crashed Your Plane”
MSFS 2024 issues CANNOT be random bugs. It appears intentional. IMO.
I get you’re frustrated but there’s no incentive or upside for any company to intentionally annoy their customers. Chalk it up to unreasonable deadlines, incompetence or anything you’d like but malice is the least reasonable explanation.
I suspect someone from a competitor is now part of the development team. The timing and circumstance when the “bugs” occur seem too specific.
There is no doubt the game was released as it was to meet quartly deadlines and other obigatory agreements. However, it sure seems like someone is very disgruntled about it from within.
This game is already everything I ever wanted in a flight simulation, despite it’s frustrating state. I have no doubt it will become the absolute miracle that Asobo evisioned for it. When it works, it is exactly that… a Miracle.
I still believe in Jorg, Seb, and Martial. But, I think they may have a Sabatour working for them.
Okay, the next flight I chose after the mission above:
Thought I’t try this R66 out and do a 45 min flight in Japan.
Everything worked fantastic from begining to landing at destination. (NOTE: R66 engine management doesn’t appear to be a full release product either).
BUT WAIT: “Apply Parking Break to End Mission”
[Press CTRL+ Space to apply parking brake]
*** By the way: CTRL+ Space per promt for Parking Brake isn’t functional for this default addon ***
Two exit to menu “bugs” in a row that have a user vest as much time as possible at different times in the flight to achieve the maximum frustration that is psychologically possible in a game “design”- while being able to claim “They are just random oversights in programming.”
R66 with parking brakes. No. This appears to be an intentional act of programming. It is not just negligence.
I uninstalled the 2024 yesterday and requested my 1 month game pass refund. Focusing on playing 2020 is better for my mental health. Zero frustrations.
Remember that the Christmas period is about to start. Don’t expect any big patches or meaningful improvements between now and mid January.
That’s the point, I have no clue why FS2024 loads blurry runways even to payware.
I run 4090 and 7950x3D and I use fast EVO 990 Pro M2. I usually never have performance issues.
My internet is „just“ 50 Mbit, but we’re talking about locally installed airports… so that’s weird
I don’t understand why I get such bad texture pop in and load in at aiports i have installed on my drive. It is so immersion killing seeing buildings and planes just pop in from thin air. Don’t get any pop in or loading on 2020.
I 100% agree with the state of the Human Condition (at least in U.S.).
By the way, my next flight was in the PC-12. At cruise FL290, FMS speed, and NAV on AP, it just suddenly gave me a blank screen and the penalty “Overspeed”. Then it spawned me back at the beginning of climb out. MSFS is more like a psychological stress endurance test than a entertainment game.
However, while actually flying, it’s still absolutely amazing - even just flying over the open seas. I must have a good internet connection, because MSFS 2024 looks like I’ve died and the visuals make me feel like I’m soaring through the atmosphere uninhibited and in peace.
Exactly, that is why I don’t spend a single second more on career mode. I don’t wanna fly people around in C172s anyway, I want to get to the more interesting stuff locked behind this career. If they won’t make these missions free to play (fire fighting, SAR, crop spraying, etc.) then I just won’t play them, they are probably just as bugged as the rest so I’m fine with that.
It was with the trim enabled H125. Having a solid H125 (that’s default) in game increases the entertainment value of the game at least 80% for me, as I enjoy that 15% of the game [helicopters].
It was the only satisfying experience I’ve had in the game today. It was also the first mission I did today. It mentally set me up to endure the impending disasters of the next 3 missions [Psychological Experiment]
