MSFS 2024 - issue redeeming digital code

Hi all,

I bought the premium deluxe steelbook version of MSFS2024 with the digital code inside. Trying to redeem it on microsoft.com/redeem and it’s giving me an error “Check the instructions that came with your code. You might need to redeem it on a different web page or device, or you may be ineligible to redeem this code.”

Was hoping anyone here may be able to help out.
Instructions on the card say to redeem on microsoft.com/redeem which I am doing. Also tried it from the MS store, same error..

Try the MSStore app in your PC. It will probably work.

Yep the same. Tried it again though and the same error.

Maybe it can’t be redeemed until tomorrow, the release day.

I’m confused. Why are you trying to redeem a code for software that’s not released yet?

it’s supposed to redeem to preload the installer for tomorrow.

I redeemed mine last week and it worked fine. I would check with whoever supplied the code. Fortunately mine came from Microsoft as my friend is a softie.

I’ve seen other people trying to redeem the steel book edition and they are also having this issue. Maybe you will be able to redeem tomorrow after it is officially released, but contact the store you got it from just to be sure.

Where did you purchase the Premium Deluxe Steelbook version?
It would be useful to know if others report having this problem too.

I have the premium deluxe steel book i brought from EB games australia and i have the same issue. i was planning on preloading what i can and than whist at work tomorrow downloading the rest of the game and playing on wedensday night. that may not happen now

Same issue here. Bought the Steelbook from EB Games in Australia.

Have tried redeeming through:

  • Web link
  • PC Microsoft Store
  • PC Xbox app
  • Xbox store

Will wait for tomorrow now and hope it activates.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 servers will be live & code redeemable at 2:00am AEST 20 November 2024
Source Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 - Premium Deluxe SteelBook® Edition (Code-in-a-Box) - PC - EB Games Australia

It means that the servers for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will go live and the game code will become redeemable (usable to activate and start the game) at 2:00 AM AEST on 20 November 2024.

  • 2:00 AM AEST on 20 November 2024 is 1600Z on 19 November 2024.

So, servers will be live and the code redeemable at 1600Z on 19 November 2024.

Yeah, same here, in Australia for some reason they are already selling it in EB Games but it doesn’t actually officially unlock till 2am tomorrow which is why it isn’t letting us use the game code, really backwards if you ask me, it could at least let us pre-load it and unlock tomorrow…… but alas, that not the case, we will have to wait till tomorrow before we can install this…

I’m having the same issue, also bought from EB Games…Tried redeeming on my laptop and on X-box, same errors…
The only thing could redeem was the De Havilland Canada CL-415 but for use on MSSF20 (redeemed successfully but haven’t tried it yet to see if it work)…I was more focused on getting into MSFS24…So frustrating Arrrrrg!!! Will try again later today 20/11/2024 and see how we got along…
