MSFS 2024 Long Haul Suggestions

I’m looking to do some long haul flights in 2024. What are your current recommendations, as of April 2025? Most of my airliner experience is with Airbus, but I have no problem learning Boeing or others. Payware or freeware, core or third party, is fine, although something like the Ini A350 is probably out of my price range. Depth of systems is good, although it’s OK if not every circuit breaker works. I’ve looked at the FBW A380, but it looks like it still needs a bit of work, at least from what I’ve read; I’d also like something with a bit more versatility in terms of possible destinations. Finally, I’m running a current gen* but modest system: RTX 4060, 14700F, 64 RAM, 2 TB SSD on mostly high and ultra, with a few medium settings.

Thanks in advance!

*Oh shoot, I jist realized that it’s not current gen any more. I guess I need to go sell my firstborn to get one of those 5000 cards…

I would say hold out for the PMDG 777’s, although the 300ER will be about the same price as the Ini 350. In 2020, FBW380 is very heavy on my i9 14900kf/4070 but with frame gen and texture quality to high in both sim and NVCP, it’s manageable.
Next to the buggy(from what I’ve heard) Ini Airbus included with 24, you could also try the WT 747 from 2020 or the Dreamliner but I’m unsure if those work perfectly in 24.

I regularly fly the FBW A320 and love it. I’ve flown the A380 a handful of times and it takes some getting used to but is great and will certainly get the job done.

I had the PMDG 777 in 2020 and it was my go to airliner, did a few New York to London and Miami to Amsterdam flights.

Haven’t tried the Ini A350 but it would certainly be a good choice from what I’ve seen.

I’d say go for the FBW A380, It’s tough to beat free. If you don’t like it then no harm. The FMS takes some getting used to but once you learn it’s like any other airbus

Sign up for a VA and fly the long haul routes

If You could maybe hold out, I am sure the Headwind A330-900 will shortly be available for 2024. A great freeware plane for long hauls. If you like the FBW A320 you will love this as it is almost identical systems and handles great.

Yes I’m familiar with it from 2020 and had a lot of fun flying it! I’ve tinkered around with it a bit in 2024, but haven’t tried a full flight yet.

You do have the default a330 which imo is a excellent plane and works well for A to B flights, though it has very lacklustre sounds externally

Yes I noticed that: the Headwind seems to have better sounds, but the default seems to have more true-to-live panels, especially the overhead panel.
