MSFS 2024 Marketplace Does Not Let Me Make a Purchase

MSFS support suggestions are below. Unfortunately, for me anyway, there is something else causing this issue that these steps did not resolve.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Flight Simulator Support today.

The payment window shows information retrieved from your device settings and Microsoft account. If the payment window does not open or if you encounter an error while trying to purchase an add-on in the marketplace, try the solutions below. Make sure to complete each step before proceeding to the next.

Sign out and sign in again.

Close MSFS.

Sign out of the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store.

Sign in again to both apps with the email used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Launch MSFS and try again.

Remove and re-add your payment method.

Sign in to the Payment optionspage with your Microsoft account.
Open payment options

Find the payment method you want to remove, and then select Remove.

Confirm that you want to remove your payment method, and then select Remove. You can now re-add your credit card, debit card, bank account, PayPal account, or mobile phone as a payment method for your Microsoft account. You can also set up a new payment method.

Select Add a new payment method.

Select the type of payment method you want to add, add your info, and select Save.

Change your default web browser.

Press the Windows key and type “Settings,” then press Enter.

In the Settings menu, click on “Apps.”

On the left sidebar, select “Default apps.”

Scroll down to the “Web browser” section and click on the current default browser. A list of installed browsers will appear. Select the one you want to set as the default.

Update your internet TLS settings.

Select the Windows icon to open the Start menu, and search for Run.

Enter inetcpl.cpl into the Run dialog box and press OK.

Select the Advanced tab and scroll to the bottom.

Inspect the Use TLS settings:

Ensure that Use TLS 1.0 and Use TLS 1.1 are unchecked.

Ensure that Use TLS 1.2 and Use TLS 1.3 are checked.

Note: Your settings may say “Use TLS 1.3 (experimental)”. That’s fine, just ensure that it’s checked.

Press OK to save your settings.

Check that your computer’s anti-virus or firewall is not blocking pop-ups or payment confirmation windows.

For specific instructions, refer to the documentation of your antivirus or firewall software, as the steps may vary by product.
