MSFS 2024 part refund for non-usability on release day

You know what would make me less angry about this launch? If a $50 credit showed up in everyone’s marketplace account.

The only launch that I can think of in the same LEAGUE as this is SimCity 2013, and they handed out free games in the weeks afterwards because it was so embarassing.

The game launched 5 hours ago and you want $50 in compensation?

They sold me a product that would be usable after release time, and it’s not usable. Yes, maybe $50 for 5 hours of this ■■■■ is a bit hyperbolic, but if this launch goes like SimCity 2013 we could be looking at days of this.

Yeah, it’s super frustrating to pay $50 and not be able to use the product right away, but it’s been five hours. This kind of thing happens with big launches, especially with something as complex as MSFS 2024. It’s not just a game—it’s a platform that streams real-world data and simulates an entire planet. Server overloads on day one are basically par for the course.

I get the frustration, but comparing this to SimCity 2013 is a stretch. That was unplayable for weeks and had game-breaking issues even after they “fixed” it. MSFS? It’s likely just server congestion. Give it a day or two, and this will probably smooth out.

Very interested to see how this ages.

It’s been less than 12 hours, lets relax a little.

I just asked for a refund. I paid 150 dollars (with tax) and then they want a monthly fee for the game pass. I hate to think how much this game would end up costing after a couple of years. Personly…, just not worth it for a game.

This is not supose to happen, it’s not an indie game, it’s a blockbuster made by a big tech. They can afford $ 50 in game cash for all users.

You realize you only pay for the edition you want OR buy a game pass subscription. You don’t need both.

Thats what I thought too…but the game wouldn’t run after loading. It said I still needed a game pass.

Then request a refund, more chance of getting that (as you have obvious evidence) than getting compensation!

Thats, not the case at all… i think you’re mixing up logging into your windows/xbox account and game pass. I am in and no game pass subscription whatsoever

The entitelment some people display totally baffles me. We’re talking about a product with a half life of several years and people want to get paid for having to wait a little longer after waiting for months. Had they announced yesterday that they’d have to change the launch date to December, people would have reacted better than this …

50$ to be used in the Marketplace during the first week only.
I think they can do it

No, you do not need both. Either Game Pass or the outright purchase cost.

I would say it’s too early to ask for compensation. If you can’t wait until the servers stabilize, just ask for a refund instead of asking for money for a ‘minor inconvenience’.

Some of us paid 200 for the top dollar version on release day … not the cheap skate version !

This is just the beginning. It won’t get better later. The servers won’t be able to serve the users because everything is loaded from the servers. It’s well known that Microsoft’s servers are bad. The MSFS 2020 servers are also not good. I’ve been reporting the error to Microsoft for 4 years, they don’t deal with it. Jorg is also just pushing stupid empty marketing text, there’s nothing behind it.
