Landing challenges are fun. MSFS 2024 sets you up on final and you get to do a landing. One of the most fun activities in the aviation sim.

The landing challenges in MSFS 2024 really are a challenge. In 2020, you would get a good description of the objectives and a few hints. In 2024 you are on your own.

In MSFS 2024 you get no information on the task and no feedback on where you can improve.

On many of the challenges that I have done, you have to figure out some issues really quickly or else you are going to crash and fast.

Why do more people not do these challenges? No one talks about them. These challenges allow you to do a quick flight complete with a landing in 5 or 7 minutes.

I will give you some examples in case you are not familiar with landing challenges.

Last night I did a challenge where you start off in an A320, too high, in a stall with both engines flamed out. This is what I call a challenge!!

Here is the Brisbane challenge. Again, you start out too high, both engines flamed out, you are in a stall and in IMC. Wild!

Akureryi, Iceland in an A320. Flamed out engines again upon spawning.

This is a 737 Max Challenge in Sao Paulo. You start the flight with no avionics.

If you are looking for the most normal landing challenge I have come across so far, try Orlando in the 737 Max.

Bilbao landing challenge starts the A320 in a stall with both engines flamed out. Why does MSFS like starting challenges this way? What was the brain trust thinking out of interest?

Why don’t you tune the NAV radio to the ILS frequency?

Back after a summer off from Flight Sim. Unstabilized approach turned into a butter, 5 star landing and high score for the weekly challenge.

You are on short final and the aircraft is not configured. No ILS. I find it tough. Hand fly & VFR only.

Almost all of the passenger jet challenges are the A320 and there’s only like one with the 737, which is strange since only the 737 is in career. Huh

There are a good number of passenger jet landing challenges in the 737 and a few in the 747. What is your favorite one?

All I see are a320 neo.

I have posted some 737 challenges above and a 747. Give one a try and let me know your thoughts. Some are under another tab called famous landings or scenic landings. Will check nect time I am on it.

What a challenge in KLAX career mode for KJFK in the B737 Max! Packed with tons of inconsistencies. The best part comes last: the landing approach at KJFK 4L. Speeds up to 600 km/h. The autopilot is off and the thrust levers are at zero. How is that even possible, Asobo? A landing in sleep mode.

This is a nice challenge. No mountains and coming in from over the ocean.
