For the last few days, the weather in my simulator has been completely different from both the real-world weather and the METAR shown in MSFS.
For example, yesterday and today at EPPO and EPWR, both the real-world METAR and the in-sim METAR reported thunderstorms and heavy rain. Outside my window (EPWR), the weather matched those reports perfectly. However, in MSFS I only had a few scattered clouds and no precipitation at all.

To make sure it wasn’t just an issue on my end, I contacted another pilot via a private message on VATSIM (vPilot). We were both connected at the same airport at the same time, and he was seeing exactly the same thing.
This! I discovered the same the last days, here are two clear examples:
First example:
Rain/TS cell 20.06 wandering from east germany over to poland, with Sigmet for TS up to FL420. Real world aircraft are all flying around the area.

=> Nothing at all

=> Nothing apart from some clouds
Second example:
Heavy cell above Düsseldorf (it was crazy, real world aircraft where completly avoiding the area doing crazy routings into Düsseldorf)

=> Nothing to see

=> Nothing, no rain, only some harmless clouds
Addition:
I just placed myself into a rain/storm area in Poland and Stuttgart and no rain again in the sim while in Timisoara where rainy weather is also present in real life, rain is also there in the sim.
It looks like a local issue.
Are there any good and accurate weather engines for MSFS 2024, or should we just wait for Asobo to fix it?
Accurate weather is especially important during the summer season, when conditions are highly dynamic, with frequent rain showers and thunderstorm fronts. Flight planning that takes these factors into account becomes largely pointless if the weather in the simulator doesn’t match real-world conditions at all :-/
Unfortunately nope. Unless you want to fly with preset weather as with StrataWX or Active Sky. I own both of them but still prefer to use default real weather. I like to see weather fronts in the distance and know they will be there when I get to them. That’s not possible with StrataWx or Active Sky.
I didnt notice that the last years, so I assume, its a local issue and bug. I will post it in the bug section if no one from Asobo is noticing here.
