It depends.
There are cases where installing latest nvidia driver along with nvidia app prevents MSFS 2024 from starting, causes CTDs during flights and leads to other issues. MSFS 2024 only works with DX12, so in this case, it’s better not to have latest nvidia driver and app.
As for MSFS 2020, there can be CTD during loading if you have nvidia app installed.
However, you can keep nvidia app as long as you select DX12 in MSFS 2020 settings or change DX11 to DX12 in the UserCfg.opt file.
To enable DX12 without launching MSFS 2020, you need to edit the usercfg.opt file. Find the line that says PreferD3D12 0 and change 0 to 1.
Save changes.
