I am running SU10 like everyone (9700K@5Ghz+RTX3080ti+32mbRAM + 22H2+Quest2) and I fly in VR. I seem to have to do a reboot, start MSFS, then VR or I might end up in a mode where when I look from side-to-side in the cockpit, it hesitates for a good part of a second. I am running a high GPU load with 3500x2500 quality. When I get in that mode, even if I return to nonVR 2D pancake mode (therefore not using VR software), the side-to-side view from the cockpit pauses ( sticks )while using the mouse cursor, Even after a restart of MSFS, it still is happening so I need to reboot. Anyone else?
Have you tried killing the HolographicShell log process mentioned in the 22H2 thread here ? I had the issue you had and it went away when I did this.
Yes, I have that too. Therefore I always restart MSFS between flights, and enter VR as soon as the main menu comes up using the enter-VR (or whatever it is called) bottom-menu item. If I use the keyboard combo to enter VR after the flight has loaded, I sometimes/often get the behavior you describe. This behavior is in addition to that holographic shell stuff, I rolled back my windows 11 install.
For anyone who is seeing this issue, here’s something you could try: Go to Computer Management → System Tools → Performance → Data Collector Sets → Event Trace Sessions. In this list, find HolographicShell, right click, and choose ‘Stop’.
Thanks for reporting that you have a similar problem. I don’t have the holographic shell issue at all because I am not using WMR since I am using an oculus quest 2. When I reboot and start MSFS first, I do get fairly smooth operation with not many stutters. I didn’t realize until today to boot first, SIM next, VR last. This of course should not be required and especially if you just simply restart MSFS, the problem should clear out . It doesn’t appear to be a VRAM problem because I am watching that with the advanced HUD of OXRTK and I am only using half of my total VRAM
