MSFS Mobile Companion App - Map, NAV, AP and more [New Freeware Released]

Thanks, Im afraid i think i will have to leave ot as its all a bit to comploicated for me, i dont know nhowm to open port 4000 in my firewall and i lookd at the forum you linked it says i have to do this thing called a powershell ccommand and it all seems very complicatyed and i would rather not mess about with my computer settings to much incase I mess anything up, but thanks again for your help, I am sure its a very useful app but just not that easy for nerps like myself!

Don’t worry. No need to do any powershell - just a couple of simple clicks in the Windows settings. Do you have a wifi or ethernet connection on your PC? I’m asking so I can guide you where you need to click.

Thanks Topper, I did discover the option to change the setting to private in the settings but even that was to no avail :frowning:

Sorry to hear that. If that didn’t help then it’s probably your firewall blocking the app. Unfortunately, I can’t really help with firewall settings because there are just too many possibilities - software, hardware, different systems.
Anyway, I do hope you manage to solve it so you can fly with this app.

This is a great app thanks so much for creating it.
Are you able to add a trim wheel (or similar), flaps and gear (up down toggle) on the panel page? Would then be close to complete.

Also wondering if its possible to add the GPS direct line like the in game IVR at all to help make sure we’re flying a direct(ish) route.

Thanks again this is a truely amazing app simple to setup as well!

Would also be great for some quick ATC response buttons as well (even better if it shows the ATC chat text and response options)

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll be adding additional functionalities gradually. These include among others:

  • Load your current flight plan and basic custom waypoint navigation
  • Flaps/gear and possibly a trim wheel
  • UI improvements such as map split-screen for tablets in landscape mode.

ATC, however, is a bit tricky because there is no way currently to read out the ATC chat options. You can emulate the buttons (0 to 9), but not with the text next to it. Without it, ATC doesn’t make much sense.

@Topper1988 I love the app so far.

Is it possible now, or could you make it possible, to remove showing your plane’s location on the map?

It would be really nice to not have that when I’m flying VFR in a 152 with no GPS. I still want to use the map for VFR navigation, but I don’t want to see the plane’s location as it makes navigating a bit too easy

Thanks for the great tip! I’ll put it on my to-do list. Technically, it’s not a big thing to implement. I just have to make sure that the ā€œHide planeā€ button is properly placed and that the UI works on various screen sizes. I won’t give you an ETA, but I’ll add it.

Just a quick note to say thank you for this app. It is fantastic and I can’t wait to see how it develops.

Thanks a lot! I still have ideas and features I want to implement so I’m not done with the app.

Hello,

It’s seems ā€œMAGNETIC_COMPASSā€ value reflect TRUE HEADING in your app.
Is it right ?
Where can I find AIRPLANE TRUE HEADING information ?

Thank you very much

True magnetic airplane heading is stored under the variable PLANE_HEADING_DEGREES. MAGNETIC_COMPASS is used to show the heading of the plane on the map. The names of the variables are a bit misleading.

Hope this helps.

Yes you are wright. But don’t put ā€œTrue, Magnetic, Headingā€ together it doesn’t exists  : only true heading or magnetic heading is correct.

It’s seems correct to me the variable are swapped.
MAGNETIC_COMPASS variable is TRUE HEADING = MAGNETIC HEADING + DECLINATION

@FlyinJPetrol this was a requested feature for some time now so I’ve added it. Never thought about it at first, but it makes a lot of sense, especially for the bush trips.

@SnoopierTunic30 I’m happy to help. I actually started building the app for myself so I don’t have to use the mouse to change NAV frequencies etc.
