Msfs not starting after download install

And your windows updates are all up to date?

as far as i know everything is up to date.

Maybe fire up Windows Update and do a quick scan.

Just had a chat with Hester. Once you have completed the update scan and we know everything is up to date. Try starting MSFS from the Start Menu. If you still crash, let’s uninstall MSFS.
It is likely, based on your error, that the MSFS package was corrupted the first time round.
Give this a quick read… (especially the part about making sure everything was removed)

Need to then uninstall the Xbox app.
Once everything is cleaned out, reboot your computer.
You can then re-install Xbox. Login to your account and re-download MSFS.

I was getting frozen on the Monument Valley splash screen. After 4 days of searching this forum and pulling my hair out, msfs is finally loading. I’m not an IT person so none of this fixing is intuitive.

Since not a lot of people on the forum are being affected, it seemed that the problem must somehow be in my computer. Sure enough, I went into the security/update section of settings and asked for updates. So far, my new computer was doing updates automatically but there were updates to be had. Done in seconds so I booted msfs and voila - it loaded. Hopefully this will help others.

This has been a very frustrating experience.

A minor step often overlooked. Remember to always do a Windows Update scan before doing any software updates. In many cases updates to applications are a result of something that Windows changed.

I have tried everything over and over again with always the same result
