Hi,
For a while there was peace, but lately MSFS version 1.33.8.0 keeps resetting my assistance options to “Easy” again.
How can I avoid this nuisance?
If there is a solution in one of the many threads regarding these resets, please advise me, because I could not find it despite combing through many of them.

And no, MS and Asobo don’t seem to be interested in finding one.

Apparently this was “fixed” in version 1.21.18.0 in 2022, but is still happening…
Personal Comments and Observations
This can still happen if the Load Process is slow. On the two attempts I had yesterday, the first load to Main Menu took over 12 minutes with a minimal Community Folder (< 10 GB). Clearly back-end services weren’t processing my request fast enough. I quit and restarted the sim. Second load was as expected (<3 minutes), but upon entering Fly Now, I noted all my Assistances had been turned ON. I think the version note you’re referencing is for a nominal session (i.e., things loaded normally and you’re into Main Menu). It’s either the long service back-end delay and/or my choice to manually terminate the sim the first time that triggered this.
Literally haven’t flown in MSFS in 2 weeks, come back and everything has been reset including all of my peripheral settings.
UGH. Asobo what is going on?!?!?!!?
It has been resetting my assists all the time. Ive already reported the issue to the zendesk, but was told to contact xbox support as it seems to be an account issue… had no luck trying to contact them… they said it wasn’t a bug either… just a big inconvenience, especially if you dont have another flight sim you can use.

This has just started happening to me and I havnt found a solution so far, super annoying cant play it at the moment.
SOLVED I can comfirm for me it was a third party addon in the community folder that was causing it to occur, it was an FSsmooth folder that caused it for me. ITs a shame the program is fantastic.
Can you provide more detail? Where is this folder located?
Do you have the 3rd party addon “FSsmooth” mentionned by @ANDY6513 ? or any other addon installed in the community folder or purchased on marketplace ?

Getting the resets again.
Noticed that whenever I add a new aircraft or a new scenery to my Community folder, the assistance get reset to Easy.
Very annoying indeed.
Several threads concerning this issue have been closed as being fixed when the problem continues to exist.
This has happened me three times and I going through all forums and tricks I believe there’s no other option than re-installing the whole sim.
Yes, no words about the nuisance when one has to go through this. At least it could be nice to know the reason for this happening.
It started with the install of GSX for me.
