MSFS STEAM Cloud play

Hi,

I have a question! Can you already play the MSFS from the Steam Cloud? I’m going on vacation soon, but I want to participate in a race. Have noticed that my laptop no longer gets the MSFS stemmed (ASUS with Nvidia G740m & 8GB Ram)! Now the option would be to play it via the Steam cloud or I would have to buy the XBox S… where I would have to buy the MSFS again in addition…

I don’t know that MSFS works in the Steam cloud but don’t know that it doesn’t. For a race I’d bet any latencies that might introduce might be a problem, though.

That said, check Microsoft’s policies. I believe they allow you to install FS2020 on multiple systems and your login controls your account.

Double check, though.

You can install MSFS on as many PC’s as you want. The catch is tha you can only play one at a time.

@G7RTA Yes, that sounds logical with the !

Explicitly:

Can I play the MSFS from the Steam Cloud? Because my laptop itself, is no longer powerful enough!
I installed it but he want start at all or if it starts with some luck, it ctd when loading to the airport.
(Is too weak to perform it independently)

I doubt it’ll be available for a while yet. Not sure about Steam, but Microsoft say they’ll be doing it next year…

"You’ll see many games this holiday, including Forza Horizon 5, which will boast DirectX ray-tracing on both Xbox Series X and S, and Battlefield 2042, which will run at 60fps while supporting 128 players on Xbox Series X/S.

"Some games launching next year from our first party studios and partners, such as Starfield, Redfall, and Stalker 2 require the speed, performance, and technology of Xbox Series X/S.

“We’re excited to see developers realise their visions in ways that only next-gen hardware will allow them to do. For the millions of people who play on Xbox One consoles today, we are looking forward to sharing more about how we will bring many of these next-gen games, such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, to your console through Xbox Cloud Gaming, just like we do with mobile devices, tablets, and browsers.”

Per Steam Support:

How do I check if my game uses Steam Cloud?

Developers are able to completely customize how The Steam Cloud is used for their games, including which user files are uploaded.

The Steam Storepage will show a Steam Cloud logo in the upper right if a game uses the Steam Cloud. But, you may need to work with the developer or the community to determine exactly which files or settings are integrated.

Also - you can search the entire Steam Store Listings and flag for Steam Cloud support:

It appears MSFS is not on the list.

I also have the Steam Version, I don’t see a Steam Cloud logo on MSFS in my Steam Library.

There are “saved games” options for MSFS on Steam Cloud, but that’s likely to just back up some configuration files etc.
