The download of the updates installs in the folder:
D:\STEAMsteamappscommonMicrosoftFlightSimulatorPackagesOfficialSteam. Is this normal? I can’t select the community folder when I click browse before downloading.
I only have 2 A320 liveries???
Did you move it to that installation folder the first time you install the sim?
I’m also on Steam version, and I set my installation at everything in their default location.
That seems corrupted. You’ll run into “too long a directory name length” errors with that configuration quickly.
Nope
Below root folder named Packages
D:\STEAM > steamapps > common > MicrosoftFlightSimulator > Packages
click browse and select Packages folder
ok but what should I do?
In fact, the game and updates are installed in :
D:\STEAMsteamappscommonMicrosoftFlightSimulatorPackages by default and when I open the package folder the downloaded files are found in Official Steam, but it seems to work except for some different bugs depending on the aircraft liveries I select (black screens in part, inactive buttons, loss of flight plan trajectory in auto…)
Default installation folder should be in C:\User[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\
Unless you change this.
Do you advise me to move all the files from:OfficialSteam
to package?
Hmm… no. I’m just simply saying that by default that’s just where the installation files is located.
Just note that there are two different installation path here. The one coming from Steam, and the one that’s stored in the Steam library folder is just the Launcher for the MSFS.EXE app.
Once you run it, it usually tells you a different path for where all the files would be installed to. One that I mentioned in the post above. Unless you deliberately change this folder into a different path.
ok thanks Néo4316
