VR performance in fs2024 is horrible, imo..
Guys, They now have our money, we were lied to, itâs simple as that.
Jorg must have known the condition of the sim, but he still painted a glowing picture in all of his pre release comments/commercials. And yes,we lapped it up, thinking, they wonât do the same party trick as they did with the release of MSFS2020, surely to goodness they learnt from that.
More fool us in trusting them, well, personally for me , never, never again!
Grass⊠touch it.
This is essentially where I currently stand. I was quite interested in the improvements FS24 would supposedly have had over FS2020, but I didnât, and still donât, have the funds to buy it. After reading the forums for the past several weeks and seeing all the problems encountered by those who did buy it, though, I am in fact amazed at how broken FS24 appears to be, and I am very glad I stuck with FS2020. FS2020 still has its own problems, of course, but none of them are the sort that completely break or crash the game, and Iâm thankful for that.
The last time I was this disappointed with the release state of a game was with a title called FSX. As they say, âfool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on meâ. I will not be caught up in new MSFS release hype ever again!
Iâm so frigginâ glad I read the OPâs post to the end, otherwise I was ready to write a whole book refuting every single one of those âdreamâ observations!
Today I crashed my beloved Grand Caravan again as I do at the end of nearly every mission due to failures in the plane. This time the mission was asking me to do a visual landing into an Irish airport and the weather was typically Irish - 1/4 visibility at airport runway level. But I didnât even get there as the autopilot was set to go no lower than 1400 feet above ground but it didnât pull me out of the shallow descent I had put it in, so while I had my head down on the instruments I was rudely interrupted by the crew telling me I failed the mission and there was a tree sticking out of the instrument panel.
The Caravan seems to have multiple failure modes in Career Mode - at least this one I can figure out, other times it just quits flying or responding to joystick inputs even with plenty of fuel.
The control setups are very capable but why are they still missing important functions that were native to FS2020 like live indication of joystick function and the highlighting of functions when the assigned button is pressed? Without any manual to go by, we have all spent many hours figuring it out which should have been time flying. This was not helped at all by Asobo adding unneeded and unwanted key bindings to my private control profiles.
Unfortunately in this case we take the sim too seriously and all the failures and bugs are actually causing so many of us to be irritated - thatâs not good for anyone. Career Mode is the main problem - it creates a lot of expectations for our own performance but then we get shot down by the sim. Got to just get used to failure or stop flying in 2024 and go back to 2020.
If it helps even one that one person to vent frustrations here, that is certainly worth a lot.
And if many of us just sit and donât say anything, how will MS know the hot mess they have presented to us?
