[MSFS2024] Airbus A330 (-200, -300, -300P2F)

same things again. see both images below. not sure what the issue is. first image just before takeoff and second is about 10 min in. any suggestions? fuel block ties to flight plan but still showing -EFOB plus FOB doesn’t go down.

The wipers still don’t clean the rain. It’s been A YEAR and this basic MSFS2024 feature still doesn’t work for this plane

same issue here.

Fuel cutoff after a flight, EGT and N1 stays the same. Only FF goes to 0 and I can’t turn off the engines. 1 Year btw and still full of bugs…

Fuel is decreasing here.

For all Airbus aircraft, accelerating the time by x4 causes the aircraft to not follow the route correctly when the autopilot is active.

half-way (around 4 hours) into my first oceanic long-haul flight in the iniBuilds A330-200GE, the sim froze. i was literally in the middle of the Atlantic, so no possibility that the freeze was caused by texture loading or corrupt scenery. CPU, GPU and RAM are not overclocked.

the symptoms were: 0% GPU, no sound, frozen screen, but in task manager the sim was still using CPU for about 30 seconds before it finally gave up and CTDed.

is it a known A330 problem? any workarounds?

This happened to me in c208. I don’t think it is aircraft specific. It’s all since su4.

Has happened to me many times anywhere doesn’t matter, the longer the flight the higher the chance. There is something wrong with long haul in career mode, I’ve completed some, but it’s a lottery after about 6hours

that’s very concerning. is it specifically an iniBuilds problem, or are you seeing this with aircraft from other developers?

the behaviour i’ve noted is that the common iniBuilds Airbus autopilot exhibits mild dutch roll at sim rate x1, moderate dutch roll at x2, and extreme dutch roll at x4 which eventually causes the autopliot to drop out because the aircraft exceeds the maximum bank angle allowed by Airbus Normal Law.

it seems that tuning the PID controllers in MSFS 2024 is a black art. Working Title, Fenix and PMDG have solved it, most others haven’t (Asobo C208 cough cough).

In career the only planes that go long are those airbuses, so unsure. When the SU5 beta drops hopefully we get access to the 747 in career mode to test.

The 737max seems to be ok on its limits approx 6hours

I’ve flown 9 hour missions in the iniBuilds A320neo v2.0 (over-range, but you can add fuel in-flight) without freezes, so I wonder if it’s particular to the A330.

a new issue which has now occured twice, several days apart, both times around an hour into longhaul flights.

at cruise, while following the flightplan exactly, in smooth air with no turbulence, the “cavalry charge” sounds, and the autopilot drops out.

on reengaging the autopilot, it is no longer capable of controlling the aircraft in any axis. it can neither control altitude, nor heading, either in managed or open climb/HDG modes.

  • it is (only) capable of rolling the plane level, if it’s disengaged, a manual bank is started, and the autopilot is reengaged.
  • NAV can no longer be selected. pushing the NAV knob in causes — to flash up momentarily, and then be replaced by the current heading.
  • the solid lines on the flightplan on the secondary MFD are replaced by dashed lines, with a solid line showing the heading
  • HDG mode cannot be engaged by pulling the HDG knog. any changes to the heading are ignored by the aircraft, and the solid line on the MFD does not move.
  • pushing or pulling the ALT knob has no effect
  • the aircraft no longer holds altitude, and begins to climb/descent from cruise
  • swapping AP1 with AP2 does not resolve the problem
  • turning the FLT CTL computers on and off does not resolve the problem
  • switching the AIR DATA source does not resolve the problem
  • DIR TO a waypoint does not resolve the problem
  • there are no ECAM warnings of any kind

the aircraft is basically now uncontrollable, and there appears to be no troubleshooting procedure (that i’ve discovered) which will recover it. the only option at this point is to quit to the main menu.

again, this has happened twice now.

NOT DONE: i didn’t check if the aircraft had reverted to Alternate Law or Direct Law (if indeed they are modelled by iniBuilds)

quite frustrating.

I’ve done some really long flights in the A330 on Xbox series X with no issues. Were you using an EFB flight plan and ATC per chance? I have always found that to be a problem with longer flights so I only use the simbrief plan and no ATC

I have experienced just this in the C208. Absolutely nothing helps until she rolls over and dives for the ground. I think this is a wider issue than just the airbus’. Not to take away from the A330 poor behaviour but it shouts loud and clear Asobo need to do a heck of a lot of fixing in this mode.
Did anyone experience this prior to SU4?

I was using a SimBrief flightplan, and I cancelled IFR during the climb – so, no ATC.

But was there a plan in the sim EFB? Feels like there might have been if you cancelled IFR during climb. Because if there was, this uses memory and will continuously update as you progress. At the moment, I don’t open or interact with the EFB or ATC window at all during a flight just to be on the safe side

how do you get clearences if no ATC in base sim - 3rd party? I don’t think career uses those does it?

By sticking to free flight and just pretending that all of that was being done by my FO. Really like having the chatter going on with full EFB flight plan and ATC and the AI ATC assist but performance degrades fast, especially over longer flights so radio silence it is for now
