[MSFS2024] Airbus A330 (-200, -300, -300P2F)

So, is WASM crash is the plane’s developers’ problem, cause their codes are wrong, or Asobo’s problem, because they didn’t done well, what do’ya think?

I think it’s extremely complex and you and I aren’t really qualified to assign blame for this issue. There are certainly some aircraft that experience WASM crashes more than others, so that suggests that some blame falls on the aircraft developer. But I’m sure there are also core sim changes that could be made to help mitigate the problem - however it’s very likely extraordinarily complex to identify what those changes are, and make them in a way that doesn’t break and infinite number of other things.

My experience that I only have 1 WASM crash on entire PMDG aircraft so far. No WASM crash experienced on TFDI, FBW, etc. But I often got this at inibuilds’ airbuses and ATR, that means their codes have a lots of problems. And, as A346 for example, after upgraded to 1.0.4, they have many WASM crashes. And ini’s A350 have a lot of WASM crashed until 1.2.6. So the result is WASM crash is planes’ devs’ problem, I think.

ini’s CEO, Obaid, also recognized that their planes have many WASM crashes in their past interviews. So that result still same: The plane’s code have problems

And I never said they didn’t - in fact I said the opposite. But to claim that because the problems exist, it’s a result of them “not wanting” to fix it is a bit silly and vastly underestimates the complexity of the issue.

The default Airbus aircraft included with the sim were made by inibuilds but are owned by Microsoft. So inibuilds can’t change/fix anything on them unless Microsoft asks them to

Anyways… the question now is: Is MS aware of this???

Is Microsoft aware of WASM crashes? Yes.

I don’t think that is necessarily true. Obviously Microsoft delivers the patches, but I don’t think they prohibits iniBuilds from making fixes/improvements. There are other aircraft included with the sim that receive updates all the time because the developers are passionate about their product. And Jörg has said himself in a developer Q&A that they rely on the passion of the developers when it comes to updates, rather than ordering them around.

The difference is that iniBuilds are making so many products, including their own third party aircraft, that they will not prioritise the Airbus A330s and would likely require incentive from Microsoft to do so.

If you go on the inibuilds forums and point out any bugs about the default aircraft they just tell you to report them on here for Microsoft to deal with

I know.

It’s not that they can’t deal with the bugs, but this forum is the proper place to report bugs for official Microsoft aircraft. That doesn’t mean iniBuilds are forbidden from being present here on this forum nor from making patches. It just means that the aircraft are not their own, they belong to Microsoft, so they don’t offer direct support, hence why we are being redirected here.

I saw a streamer who wanted to do the iconic Singapore–New York route with the iniBuilds A350, and after 6 hours the WASM crashed and he had to give up on the flight. If it happens to you like it did to me while starting to taxi, then fine, it’s annoying but not a huge deal. But after 6 hours of flying, that’s a massive pain.

The last time I used version 1.2.6, it also failed on me — I got the red screens and the controls/keys stopped responding. I restarted it and it worked fine afterwards, but luckily it was only a short 2-hour flight.

I’m not saying Microsoft doesn’t update these aircraft with each SU, but if they really are being updated, the changes are very minor and pretty limited. The A320 works well, but with the A321LR and the A330-200/300 I kept having the fuel issue, which is a bug that has been known by the community for quite a while.

FYI, SU6 fixes:

Any WASM improvement?

Why is it still not possible to remove the covers and chocks directly from the EFB? Also, in the cargo version, the camera position is still inside the galley, behind the door.
