[MSFS2024] Airbus Helicopter H225

That’s it, I gave them a year..

How can I get a refund for being rug pulled by Asobo and HYPE.. I was sold a fully capable IFR helicopter and got a blind one winged chicken

It’s also become very clear Asobo don’t care about Helicopter pilots, all the helicopters they have released via 1st party devs have been Console-ified to make them simple to fly.

Just adding another voice to say this heli is still not flyable. A lot of the interesting and state features don’t work, and it’s not stable in flight under normal conditions. This needs a different dev,

With the new update it is much better. Still has critical issues especially with controls and lacks some key functionalities like autopilot.

If the pace of fixes and updates was quicker this could still easily become one of the best aircraft from the default lineup in my opinion. The visual model is absolutely top quality

What did in your opinion get better?

The h225 cant be cold-started anymore as it completely overtorques if done so, and the whole afcs system which had its issues but was implemented already to quite a good degree, is now completely gone. The altimeter knob still does not work, so for me it went from having issues to being completely unflyable.

The update has made the helicopter even worse than it already was. Such a great helicopter with beautiful 3D graphics.

What’s wrong with the developers? They’re losing their good reputation.

You can’t hear any sound from other H225 helicopters. There are so many technical bugs that I could write a novel about it. But I think the H225 is finally dead. I’m not wasting any more time on it. RIP.

Impossible to use now, it’s a wreck, another deluxe money wasted. I don’t know what they’ve done, it was even nice before, now it behaves absurdly.

I spent some time with this helicopter on Xbox. The good news is that the collective finally works with the keybinds (A/B buttons on the controller). So the vehicle is now operable, but I would say it’s not properly flyable. There are some severe issues with its behaviour.

  • The autopilot doesn’t work. The AP1/AP2 buttons simply cannot be toggled, they don’t do anything. The autotrim buttons work (I assume they would apply to the autopilot). The AFCS remains disengaged and I found no way to engage it.
  • Something weird happens while flying. In hover, the helicopter wants to yaw to the left, both with and without the tail rotor assistance. It’s the same and it feels like the assist doesn’t do anything.
  • While traveling, it feels like the helicopter uses some kind of autotrim, like the fly-by-wire in fixed wing Airbuses, trying to keep the same attitude. But the trim runs away regularly. The helicopter picks its nose up and even pushing the cyclic full forward doesn’t do anything. It regularly becomes unresponsive. The same happens in the other direction, the helicopter can nosedive and it’s not possible to lift it up.

I simply found no way to properly fly this thing with a controller (I can more or less fly the H125).

Also, engine sounds are terrible. When you shut it down, the engine sound just stops instead of winding down.

As far as I am concerned it is not fit for purpose, which is annoying and which raises broader concerns being that it was sold as part of the package (thus I paid for it as a product).

Well, having watched some vids…it will do for me!

Anybody know if they are planning to add it to the marketplace?

You can shut down the engines? How?

No matter what I do they always stay on for me. The sound stops when the rotor brake is on but the engine doesn’t actually stop.

HPG deflecting to NDA and remains silent.

Hi folks, for those concerned, we do have our statement with updates and clarification prepared for release but we are awaiting a green light from Microsoft to do so because some of the content is related to our relationship with them.

I wish we could say more as well, trust me, our team has not enjoyed being so limited on communication

Can we have some clarification from MS/Asobo about what is going on with this product? You do “Weekly breefing” blogs. If it is not only a PR-thing with butterflies and flowers, this is a good place to say something.

I put the engine switches to off, fuel to off and then engaged the rotor brake. It’s true that by itself (without the rotor brake) the propellers would not stop. With it though, they stopped spinning in just a few seconds. Another not too realistic thing.

That includes me, from a good flying helicopter with working ATT mode it went to a degraded helicopter that not doesn’t have upper modes in it’s AFCS but also lost it’s ATT mode. Along with removed previously present Lvars used by people for their FFB equipment. It’s a shame how a reasonable working helicopter can be degraded.

Certainly didn’t become better with the update. It lost his ATT mode which was present before and they removed previously present Lvars that people that use FFB equipment use. Hvars used by people are not present anymore. So what is better? For me and a lot of others with me it moved from a reasonable realistic model of the H225 wich just missed the upper modes in it’s AFCS to a helicopter that has to be flown like the Cabri, a total different helicopter, so not realistic at all anymore.

What happens if you release the rotor brake? If I remember correctly it spun up again for me. Also it wouldn’t recognize as being shut down in a career mission.

Absolutely no fun and unusable in its current state…

I have to use the General Cut Off levers to stop the turbines… Otherwise, it’s a constant struggle to start.

Major electrical and flight assistance problems; it flies at an angle as if there were a 50-knot crosswind…

I upgraded to Premium Deluxe in April just so I could fly the Puma…

I don’t know as I didn’t try. I just wanted to exit. I also can’t comment on Career mode as I don’t use rotorcraft there. But it sure looks like this heli has a lot of issues. Too bad, with its “fly-by-wire” system I was looking forward to a helicopter that was comfortable to fly even with a controller. Sadly it’s anything but.

Hope Jorg can push this to a workable fix, like he always says we listen to the community… We care about this helicopter!

Sure. And yet here we are ONE YEAR later. It’s a disgrace.

It’s lovely how they added it to career mode, so you think you can fly it, and it’s a complete mess.
Then they say they will add heavy airliners only when they are truly ready, because they care about quality.
It’s a joke right?
