[MSFS2024] Airbus Helicopter H225

Recently purchased the H225 for €20 and should have realised that this kind of helicopter would have costed more if the AFCS was functioning. But since the original developer left and took the code with him that controls the AFCS there,s probably no way its ever getting an autopilot or stay level if you let go of the cyclic.Despite of having 2 new crewmembers its not going to get new AFCScode. These things were developers leave a project and taking code with them happens all the time!HPG says they are negotiating with the original developer to get the code, but i dont believe this will ever happen.

The H225 isn’t HPG’s project anymore and have zero involvement. The aircraft belongs to Microsoft, and they have another developer working on it. The H145 and H160 are a different story though, and it is anyone’s guess if HYPE will ever make any further progress with them because of the code issue. Cheers

lmao.. it isn’t some unknown mystery.. it’s code.. most planes and helicopters have autopilot.. anyone who codes planes can code it

sure, if it was that easy i would have a functioning h225. The code i thats probably a product thats taking years to develop.Thats why hpg is negotiating to get the code instead of starting from scratch. The new developers probably dont even know where to start since they dont have this vital source code for the AFCS.We as customers probably dont even have a clue of how many hours goes into development.

they could literally just copy past from the h160.. it’s the same autopilot..

Sure, if it would be that easy we wouldn’t have this discussion. Millions line of code that’s taking years to develop.

I think you are missing out that (at least that is what I got from the discord) it isn’t a problem of “having” the code. My understanding is that they are not allowed to use/modify the code because it is Dave’s property.

and dave left Asobo a half finished helicopter that he was paid to develop.. it’s asobos property…

most complex helicopters have 50-60 thousand.. not millions. also that code is not hand written.. it’s generated with input prompts from any multitude of c++ generators, most developers use Visual Studio with their own custom made templates.

If the code is missing or the code is not missing but Asobo is not allowed to use it practicaly comes down to the same thing.A half finished helicopter.

We dont really know what is in the contract of Dave with Asobo so we never can tell for sure.

Hopefully the code can be rewritten who knows…

But I do have to say that HOPEFULLY it’s a learning curve for Microsoft to not accept a half working aircraft without full testing

I picked this up a week ago or so as I finally saw it in the market place (not sure when it appeared - but either missed it or it was new there!)
I think its ok …certainly flyable, but with some bugs!
I am quite happy with it at the moment and looking forward to an update if it ever happens.

Why not to request a reimburse to Microsoft saying that reality?, would be really unfair to not approve it. First is that Microsoft should not sell that helicopter separately maybe, in the deluxe pack has more sense though in both cases informing that it is in alpha state, and maybe you want to support the helicopter development also e.g.

I dont have confidence that this will happen ever.

There is an actual reason why its being sold for only €20.If the AFCS was implemented it would have been sold for over €30,maybe over €40. Reimbursement is not in Microsoft,s dictionary.

Just as a note, it seems that most helicopters have the issue with the nose regularly pitching up since su6, which makes this one feel even worse

Which helicopters? Since SU6, I’ve flown the H125, EC135, R-66, and CH47, plus Taog’s Dauphin, Alouette, and Huey, and none of them exhibit this behavior. This is without assists, in case that makes a difference.

Same here, I tried the A225 after SU6 and it really flies strangely. Unpossible to go over some 110 kts as it tends to pitch up then and this cannot be ended with cyclic input but only by lowering collective.
I cannot say how the other stock FS2024 helis behave as I normally fly the Bo-105.

That might be it, maybe the assists are the issue.

The Taog ones fly ok, apart from the little bird which loses power after take off for me, which might also be related to the assists.

Might be time for me to lose the training wheels and be a man

Sounds like you are over-torquing and destroying the engine/gearbox.

for the 500 reset the damage or turn it off in the tablet.

I’m hoping that iniBuilds can do some good with the H225. Let’s give them time before we tar and feather them. I haven’t had time to take the update to the 47J out for a spin yet…

Good reminder, looking forward to my Saturday morning now, cheers!
