Try space bar, that centres you on the right seat.
I’m Flying with all assists on, so take that as it may.
The H225 is actually very good. It will actually practically maintain altitude for you and require just tapping up and down on longitudinal trim to maintain it. Highly recommend.
The G2 is fun, manueverable and can be trimmed perfectly using longitudinal and latitude trims.
Chinook is ok. Like a big G2. Flies ok. Can be trimmed and usable.
Westland is ok. Pretty complicated looking. Only flew it once or twice. Seems ok.
The 47J Ranger looks alright, but the flight model is nutty. Moving the cyclic around causes huge swings of the torque meter. Only barely controllable.
407, I gave up trying to start it.
Haven’t tried the skycrane yet or the Robinson.
The poster child, the H125, it is flyable. It is controlable. It is not comfortable. I don’t care what the excuse is, expecting us to sit there holding a joystick forward for 1-2 hours for some of those passenger flights is a no go. You can fly it around for 10 or 15 minutes no problem but not hours, not without trim.
This is one of the few things that really works correctly .. just press mute horn on the board
CTRL + E Doesn’t work, this is very poor for an included aircraft.
I completely agree with you about the need to clean the windows. As silly as it sounds, I actually feel embarrased to fly the 407 because of the dirty windows. I also find the dirt distracting while flying. I’ve been meaning to generate a wish list post asking for cleaner windows, but have been too lazy…
Yes, realism or not, but that is a bit too much of a good thing

Cannot start from cold and dark. The standard of this included package is too low. It is very disappointing they miss he “standard” cold and dark t startup feature.
Nevertheless, you should definitely fly the helicopter because it is a new experience, it flies really smoothly. And the new graphics environment of the 2024 lets you constantly take in new perspectives that you have never seen before. Especially with the helicopter. And here is the Bell 407 with which you can explore the environment for a long time. The trim works by the way .. ![]()

(Or it will never be fixed)
This FAR beyond a bug! Perhaps the next time Jorg and co – as much as we admire what they have achieved – explain to us how on earth these gaping disasters can evade their testing procedures. Do they even have a test team?
Seriously, Jorg, Seb, please help us understand. Let us help.
The very basic element is missing. Wow, just wow… MSFS 2024!

Hi …
This issue is logged into our internal bug tracker and is being investigated. We will contact you only if we require additional information.
I notice the lack of overspeed. I can descend at an alarming rate and the rpm does not budge. No retreating blade stall either. Maybe I need to check my settings in case these are disabled. I cannot see anything on the torque or fuel gauges either, but then I’m not a helicopter pilot, only comparing with the 2020 version.
I know a few have had this issue. I have selected a helipad, the helicopter is in cold and dark stage, no pre flight checks, and can’t get into the helicopter.
Can not rotate the throttle to FLY or to any percentage. Everything is stuck when starting cold and dark. Kind of a sim breaking moment for the Bell 407. In other words, can not fly it unless starting from helipad or runway already started.
It’s a mess, just like every other default aircraft.
Yeah, when 3rd party aircraft in FS2020 compatibility mode are in much better shape than some of the native default aircraft, you know some corners were cut.
I tried the 407 yesterday for the first time in MSFS 2024. It’s very stable and easy to fly. It’s the first helicopter I really felt the cushion in ground effect which felt very realistic from what real pilots described it.
It was a real enjoyment to hover, pickup and landing.
How do you rate the 407 compared to the other stock helicopters?
The Bell 407 is my #1 flown helo - and I literally own all you can buy and fly helos 85%. For me it’s the perfect combination of weight, agility and speed.
I just bought Nemeth’s new Hiller UH-12B due to the 407, and it doesn’t disappoint either.
I second the 407 as being one of the easiest to fly and by far the easiest to hover.
My favorite however is the H125 it’s very fast for a whirly bird and has pretty nice range.
Hopefully as 2024 continues to improve they will improve the flight model more with some of the ground effect bugs and fix the ones we can’t start cold and dark.
As a whole im happy with the helicopters in 2024 compared to previous versions especially the number of helipads available.
