[MSFS2024] Boeing 707-320C

Huh, the pictures I’ve seen made it look like there should be a bit more downward flex on the ground. The More You Know™ though, I guess…

Wishing for the CIVA INS be added is my wish.

Aeroplane heaven adding a new feature to a default plane.
That would be a sight to remember!

I tried again to fly the airplane, and while I got the flight complete, it was a fairly miserable experience.

  • Load and balance is messed up. There are no limits to the weight in any of the passenger, crew, or cargo sections. And if you leave it to default your plane will be unbalanced, nose heavy.
  • The nose wheel is still broken, also since launch. So you have to slew your way out of a gate. Inexcusable 4 months on.
  • There is a glitch with most rotating switch that will send it to maximum randomly.
  • This includes your V/S roller, which is WIDELY annoying and makes even basic tasks extremely frustrating.
  • The only way to make the spoilers/flaps work properly is with a mod
  • A lot of essentials are also only available via mod (like weight in lbs on your fuel), and it’s crazy that a 3rd party had to make a simple clip board with the VSpeeds for take off and landing.

I really want to love this plane, or at least be okay with it. But we’re 4 months, almost 5 months in and I’m beyond upset that very basic bugs that severly hamper the enjoyment of this aircraft have gone unpatched since launch. How has the nose gear, flaps, and V/S (knob rotation) bugs not been fixed?

That’s why I use SimBrief to generate routes and weights and then just put all the cargo in the aft compartments. Works fine that way.

I’ve found that the nosewheel steering itself isn’t broken, just the animation is. The steering works, you just can’t see it working.

This is annoying, but I’ve only seen it with the lighting dials, not the vertical speed wheel. Maybe I’ve just gotten lucky.

I also don’t like this, and in my opinion, we’re fortunate these mods exist, because it doesn’t seem to be likely that Aeroplane Heaven would’ve added stuff like the V-speed tables or the option for non-metric fuel indicators.

I’m already somewhat okay with it, because I’ve found it can do a basic A-to-B flight with the mods and workarounds mentioned… but it is rather infuriating that bugs still exist for which the fixes should theoretically be elementary to implement. Unfortunately, this is all par for the course with Aeroplane Heaven. I almost wish Microsoft would threaten to drop them as a first-party content partner; maybe that would effectively send the message that everyone’s fed up with the kind of half-baked add-ons they put out.

The nose wheel, on the passenger version, will cause the tug to fling you inti the air on pushback. :frowning:

I haven’t encountered this so far. Might depend on what tool you use for pushback. I use the free version of Toolbar Pushback off fs.to.

Which livery are you using? It only messes up on passenger variants when the direction isn’t straight back.

The cargo version works fine.

I’ve been using all passenger liveries because I get annoyed at how the cargo variant’s nosewheel gets turned 90 degrees when the plane isn’t on the ground. Mostly the American Airlines and British Airways Landor liveries off flightsim.to, also a bit of the default Pan Am livery.

I can’t believe they never rolled out a fix for this aircraft. That’s nearly 6 months of an aircraft with no LE flaps (minus the community mod) and the nose wheel / livery issue. AND despite a dev coming on here and saying what had been released wasn’t actually the final version. How is this even remotely defensible? Back then MS were too busy with FS2024 release and now they are still too busy with FS2024.

Sometimes I read these things and I wonder about communications. Was there a bug opened for this? I’m 99.99% sure Jorg does not know about this. Because it is really unacceptable to have a default aircraft broken and not get a single word about it.

This also rises my despise towards AH by several levels, as far as I know they are in Australia and they behave as if they were in some exotic country without internet and didn’t know english. “We just got job for plane for MS we deliver plane, got money no more work sorry about our english”

I have never ever seen a single word from AH not a video, not a post, not a tweet, nothing.

The guy that did the flight model for them is the only one that responds for their products and he said that some of those bugs were already fixed but didn’t make it to the release for some reason. That guy always gets the worst from the community but at least he is brave enough to speak, he even created some instructive videos about the flight models and he certainly is not the culprit behind the AH disaster.

So my conclusions are:

  • I hope the wonderful community team here can raise an eyebrow and tell Jorg about this.
  • I hope this gets addressed in some dev stream or Q&A.
  • I hope MS never ever commissions another plane to AH.
  • I hope MS considers having some social media presence where customers can ask and get support a requisite for companies doing aircraft for the sim. I’m sure a lot of companies will be happy with this and those that are not happy can be replaced giving the opportunity to better people.
  • I hope the guys at AH could some day experience themselves the horrible customer service they provide. Never fix a problem, never even address it, never say a word.
  • I hope the guy that does the flight models for AH can get some work to be done with a better company, he does create very nice flight models.

Cant even blame fs2024, there could have been an fs2020 update in 6 months but there hasn’t been. So it’s not like fs2024 should gate anything. It’s just like you say they have moved on and don’t care, which is quite sad.

The Flight Model guy is awesome. I really feel sorry for him because he communicates and clearly cares. Only to get bashed as the only reachable face of yhe project.

Is there chance Asobo is going to get us an update on this thing? Not trying to be pushy, but we should have a basic bug patch by now. No one is expecting this to match PMDG, but at least fix the issues with the nose wheel, flaps, pushback, and loading.

I wish this aircraft was available in career mode

Yeah, all aircraft should really be. It would be cool to do missions with some old school jets. 707, FSS 727, etc. I’m hoping JustFlight brings the VC10 into MSFS2024.

Anyone have a brief rundown of fuel loading pre-flight, and how to run the tanks in flight?

I put 32K LBS in economy pax and 10K as baggage on one side. I try to put all the fuel I’m going to use in the four main tanks. The cross feed system doesn’t work the diagram. It’s a puzzle to figgure out the settings, but it’s doable.

I setup some flights through OnAir and getting less frustrated with the plane. A patch to fix all the launch problems in 2020 would be greatly appreciated though.

I always have the four main crossfeeds open, because the first time I flew the plane on an actual route, I didn’t realize the outer main tanks would run out before the inner ones, so when they ran out, the fact that I didn’t have the main crossfeeds open resulted in the outer engines shutting down. So now I just leave those crossfeeds open all the time so that I don’t have to deal with that. You’d think that might cause problems with fuel imbalance during or after turns, but I haven’t seen any such negative effect so far.
