How to turn on the lights in the cabin?
When increasing sim rate more than one step the vertical trim goes nuts and also fps drops massive on RTX 3070, I7-9700K with 64GB DDR4 3600MHz on mixed High/Ultra settings
Doing a flight starting cold & dark is an absolute stuttering mess. The framerate took an absolute nosedive if I just wanted to move the cursor around the cockpit to start the plane.
When taxiing it was just as bad, and good luck enjoying getting the plane off the ground and not having it stutter every 1.5 seconds.
Doing a flight starting on the runway where the plane is around ready to go was a better experience, but I would like to be able to do a flight starting it up myself and doing all the legwork to get it into the sky.
The avionics seemed awfully bright during night flight but perhaps thats more on me not adjusting the proper brightness.
Played via a Series S. Very little third party DLC installed (just a few planes, thats it).

Their standards are very low so claiming 737-8 Max is their best work is fair ;). Its quality is on par with other elements of the game like career mode, AI traffic, ATCā¦
Thankfully iFly is working on bringing their Max to FS2024.

There is a workaround. Use free PMS50 addon. The pedestal transponder display will still show default 2000 squawk, but it will show correct number on PFD.

It works if you switch transponder to 2 and 1 again, but this is for sure to be fixed
Guys, if I set the load to Max using the EFB, I notice that it divides the weights equally between the AFT Cargo and the FWD Cargo. Iām not sure if this is correct due to the CG. I know that in the PMDG 737, they are not distributed equally, with always a bit more in one of them. I think this is affecting my piloting. Is there any way to correct this? I have already tried setting the weights through the Settings page and then āWeight and Balanceā in the FMC menu, but that causes a huge balance problem.
Have you seen the somewhat buried in the EFB section on loads/weights/cargo/passengers/

You can make changes the āLOAD IN AIRCRAFTā. Sadly it doesnāt use simbrief readings, so it looks like a manual tool.
If I recall correctly, they could be found as speedbrake instead of spoilers. Airplanes like the MAX have their own additional keybindings. You can find them with the column behind saying āspecialā rather than " airplanes".
Has anyone started working on an improvement mod for the Max 8? If it is even possible?
Not possible until Asobo will decrypt files and let us download locally this plane.
With all the encryption of default aircraft Iād be surprised if there were any mods. There are currently barely any liveries. Offical fixes are the way to go right now (Has anyone submitting any bug reports for the max yet? I have a list, but donāt know what to submit.). Having flown it on a few flights now, it isnāt that bad, and just has a few bugs, some of which are annoying like no ground power and unable to set squawk code (there is a workaround).
Other annoying things like air con/pressurisation warning system going off at various stages of flght, and alt dial rotating in wrong direction, screens too bright, nice passenger cabin that isnāt visitable minus drone cam etc.
I mean these are all fixable. In the meantime it is flyable and itās not too bad as default airliners go.
It does not bother you that engines on this plane behave and perform like CFM56 from NG variant? A330 Driver (former MAX pilot) pointed out so many things that are wrong, itās unbelievable this plane is in the game. Itās miles away from other default planes like Airbuses from iniBuilds.

I havenāt wacthed any critiques or comparisons, in fact Iāve studiously avoided youtube and fs2024 so I can form own opinions. Iāve just flown it having previously flown the PMDG and itās quite flyable. Was it ever meant to be a study level plane though? The glaring obvious bugs are way more annoying than engine differences to me.

In a way you are correct. But Iād say that the problem is more one of far too raised expectations for default aircraft. None of which have really been study level previously. Yet many seem to have an expectation with every release that there should be a PMDG level aircraft for some strange reason.
Iād rate the Max as a similar level to the FS2020 787 with WT avionics. It just has a few more bugs at this stage and like much of FS2024 itself could have done with some beta testing.
As the release of FS2024 had made painfully clear, itās quantity over quality. At least concerning the aircraft. Luckily the aircraft Iām interested in are also developed by Bluebird, Fenix, Ifly, PMDG, Blacksquareā¦ Iām staying away from 99% of the aircraft that come with FS2024.
