[MSFS2024] Boeing C-17 Globemaster III

trim are automaticly going back to 2 deg.

Any chance there will be an update to the main gear suspension? There currently is none and extremely stiff and doesn’t move on landing.

“stab trim” is the elevator trim (nose up/down), right?
I tried the trim up for takeoff, the stabilizer alarm still activated.

Id recommend using the keyboard/hardware keybinds for Trim instead of cockpit clickspots. Stab trim to anywhere between 3-8 before takeoff will do it and extinguish any alarms. You can verify trim position on the gauges in the cockpit.

The stab will not automatically change unless aircraft is no longer on ground (when FBW kicks in, and starts managing the trims)

Ok thanks for the hint about the cockpit stab gauge.
I was looking at the external view trim information, this does not match the trim seen on the cockpit gauge below the left MFD.
When trimming more up, to the 3-8 according to the cockpit gauge, the stabilizer alarm is not present at takeoff - nice!

Two more remarks/questions:

  • Decision height/minimums: there is no aural warning when reaching it?
  • I cannot find any instruments showing the outside temperature data
  • flight plan on the MFD is showing the TOD, but not bottom-of-descent

Do not use the external HUD info, I’ve noticed this info does not always match the internal simulator variables. I don’t know why - but tends to occur with AOA and Trim angles. The cockpit instrumentation will always display the correct data.

Aural warnings for DH are modeled, along with their corresponding PFD messages - there are different DH modes, documented here: Navigation and Communication Systems | Miltech Simulations Documentation Hub

OAT is not displayed in any of the instruments. This is in fact accurate as it is not displayed in any of the displays that are publically documented. We recently got info that it is displayed on the FMC IRL, however, not currently modeled.

BOD is not modeled, and not planned at this time.

I figured it out what’s wrong.
To move trim up and down, you need to turn off the auto trim in the assistance tab of the option menu. After you set the trim to 3 to 8 deg the stablilzer alert will deactivate. If auto trim option is on
the AI will automatically set the trim to 2 deg. ( you can’t mange trim when auto trim is on)

Please make the wing flex.

If someone else can make the wings on a c17 flex, and do it as a hobby for free, people who get paid should be able to do it too.

We paid for a product, a good product. Not a promise of a good product, nor a roadmap of a list of fixes that shouldn’t have been in the initial release to begin with.

I’m just having a hard time understanding, in what professional field is it acceptable to submit one’s work that’s far from complete in order to meet a deadline?

I feel like a huge effort going into managing our expectations as paying consumers from the beginning by both the developers and some members of the community: We, as paying customers should lower our expectations, we are paying for a product that will have bugs and fixes will eventually be here.

Alpha, Beta testing is a thing for a reason, to identify and fix bugs. why release a product along with a list of bugs and a promise of future enhancements is the very thing I do not understand.

Wing flex was left out from initial release due to timelines. Given the complexity and detail on this wing (rivet, panel lines, moving pieces, etc.) achieving good, bug-free wing flex is very time-consuming, and we had a hard deadline to meet due to the release of FS24. It would have been worse to release a half-baked, bugged wingflex (which would have not been approved by QA for release).

At this time we continue working on pending updates, bugs and fixes. Two updates have been submitted pending for distribution, and working alongside Microsoft’s QA to get those distributed as soon as possible. Once those are done and released, we will switch our focus to the next thing, being wingflex and tactical descents.

Iterative processes are part of the software industry these days. Software, and particularly this sim, has gotten to a level of complexity that will only mature over several months and years. And aircraft will mature along with it, as there is a high level of codependency between addons and the core sim. The deadlines and business decisions over this sim are beyond our control, and as 1st party devs we must hit the timelines and prioritize tasks from QA, as they have final say on what releases and what doesn’t. C17 was developed from scratch in 8 months, which is a very short timeline for an aircraft of this size and complexity - it would normally take 2x the time to develop otherwise.

seeing how the rest of the 2024’s planes were released, guess it would’ve passed anyway.

But kudos to you to have a high quality standard

Two new issues I encountered today, with the latest SU1 beta (31.01.2025).
Not sure if it is related.

  1. APU EGT is stayed at outside temperature (-7) although running:

  2. during flight, suddenly most displays went off. PFD and MFD could not show engine data anymore (black screen), but switching to nav view still worked. Buttons for altitude etc. also still worked, but displays off.
Never had this before and not sure how to reproduce though:

Will review this one

Now, this one sounds like you may not have generators on - and the batteries were fully depleted. Not all displays run from the same electrical bus unless you have the bus xfers engaged

Thanks, I will pay attention to that

Just went into walkaround mode after landing in EHRD.
I didn’t think my landing was THAT bad

Fixed in Update one - it is an issue on the FS24 camera config.

In short, the walkaround mode uses a “non-external” camera mode. If you open the camera menu, you will see that selected camera is internal, even when you are clearly in external walkaround. This is due to FS24 not considering Walkaround mode as an external view of the aircraft.

The result is that you see a LOD corresponding to the internal camera, instead of the LODs corresponding to the external. If you manually select EXTERNAL in the camera menu, you will see that the LOD is changed, and aircraft renders normally.

What we did is add another conditional, that switches the LODs not only based on camera state, but also based on user being in walkaround mode or not. This variable was not available until December, so was only introduced in the update pending release.

i can not turn the tcas on. it always shows standby.
also, how can i show the weater radar or map on pfd?

Both are documented on the manual:

NAVCOM IFF Page, and use button #4 to set TA/RA. Beware that MFD ND pages will not display any traffic, only PPI does.

Scrolling down on the same manual page, under Multi-Function Controls Unit - RDR button will switch between OFF/TERR/WX

Undercarriage failure on landing, can failures be turned off ?

IIRC failures are deactivated through the MSFS Assist Settings, these failures are triggered by the new FS24 Wear and Tear system

I purchased the Aviator edition and have the same problem. No Globemaster 3. I’m a retired US Air Force C-17 pilot so this was the primary driver for me to spend the extra $$. How do you contact Microsoft directly? I don’t see an option to reach out to Microsoft. I’m hoping this is just a matter of downloading the aircraft or unlocking it somehow. I find it strange it shows up for some people but not others.
