[MSFS2024] Boeing C-17 Globemaster III

Did you ever find a solution to this? I’m having the same problem trying to map the knob press function.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I can get the bindings for the heading knob to work but I can’t get the press function to work.

I have a question here:

  • Where can I post/report gun issues with the C-17, so that developers of this aircraft (miltech simulations) can see?

I’m asking this because I reported the following but so far I didn’t get any feedback:

you reported it in the correct place, there is just barely any feedback or response to bug reports for default planes, so I would not keep my hope up.

I believe this and many other items are already fixed in a build provided by Miltech to Microsoft that has yet to be released for about 4-6 months. It’s in Microsoft’s hands to release and Miltech’s hands are tied.

Interesting (or not quite, if you know what I mean).

Anyway, do you have any source about this? Namely one that lists what was supposed to have been already fixed/implemented in Miltech’s latest build (which wasn’t released by Microsoft yet)?

Information and support is all on their discord but there are 2 Updates that have not been pushed yet by Microsoft for the C-17. I know one fix is the leaning to one side in cruise due to a thrust issue between engines. I don’t have a discord link but I believe it’s on the Miltech website.

The C17 was made by Miltech but was made for Microsoft for the sim and therefore any updates are pushed to Microsoft and it’s up to them to deploy when they decide to as it’s technically their intellectual property and there’s NDA and all of that to consider.

Thanks for the information, milavgeek :+1:

This is really “disgusting” by Microsoft. So, we have this aircraft which we must pay extra despite being considered a sort of a “stock” aircraft but Microsoft itself refuses to update it despite the developer already having updates to fix issues?!
This also proves how flawed is Microsoft’s update strategy

In the livestream yesterday, Jorg said we should expect around 70 aircraft (out of the ~130 first party/licensed/stock planes) to be updated upon release of SU4. I suppose just based on odds that there is a >50% chance this is one of them.

I watched the stream today and I believe I actually heard Jorg mention the C17 and the version number of 1.14 or something similar so yes I think it’s coming. I will say until SU4 beta the C17 was also a performance hog. I’d like to think Microsoft has good reasons for waiting to update all of these planes and holding them for so long and maybe it was to get the sim more stable and performance improved. I have no real idea but there’s things we don’t know and while it does seem dumb to us maybe there are good reasons. Either way MS gets to decide the release schedule as these planes were made based on their requirements.

Miltech C17 Globemaster National Flag Issue.

I have been trouble shooting my missing national flag issue for a while and so far the only explanation has come from Google AI stating the Miltech or Asobo removed the national flag from the C17 because of a location error. Is there any way to confirm this.

My original post on msfs forums.

Thanks.

I have a question, does anyone know where the livery pack is at for the c-17?

Good afternoon, did I understand you correctly that the developers fixed this bug with a roll, but microsoft itself is not updating it?
thanks for the reply.

Miltech has nothing to do with the C-17 anymore. MS has been sitting on the update information to fix the C-17 for MONTHS .

Not entirely accurate - we are still behind the development and maintenance for this aircraft. But there have been blocking issues preventing distribution.

Ultimately the publisher and distributor is MS, so you’ll hear the news from them

What does this mean?

Errors for Xbox potentially other things in the SDK could change and cause issues all these kind of things could be a blocker

  • FIXED - Increased yaw damper gain to improve accuracy on ILS landings.
  • FIXED - Speed Brakes failing to reduce airspeed.
  • FIXED - Autostart sequence improvements.
  • FIXED - Ignitor Selector knob logic updated for accuracy (positions A, B, and AB will now start all engines).
  • FIXED - Fire Pulls are now a “two-click interaction” (Left + Right Click) to prevent accidental activation.
  • FIXED - Drums on altitude QNH Select not displaying 9s.
  • FIXED - Checklists not functioning due to modular migration.
  • FIXED - Discrepancies between HUD and PFD Flight Path Vectors.

While it’s good to see an update, I’m very disappointed to see that what are for me the main issues with this C-17 weren’t fixed at all.

  • One of the issues that I’m talking about is TACAN, which doesn’t work. Only the DME portion works and even that, not for all TACAN stations and TACAN never points the station direction no matter what!
  • The other issue is ILS. ILS doesn’t fully work unless there’s a flight plan present. If there’s no flight plan but the ILS is correctly tuned, the ILS elevation needled isn’t shown.

This is something that’s puzzling me with FS2024. Four (4) very big sim updates and hardly any avionics issues gets fixed and this doesn’t only affect this aircraft but basically most or almost all aircraft in this sim but here I digress…
IMO, avionics issues should be top priority! It’s stupid to have a military aircraft that cannot use TACAN or more precisely can only use the DME portion of TACAN like a civilian aircraft or the ILS not fully working. It’s if the C-17 is civilian aircraft but with a “military skin”.

The focus of this update was primarily performance, stability and optimization; along with a few other bugfixes. Bugs are prioritized by their impact.

We are now working on the next update - TACAN is one of the items to review.
