[MSFS2024] Boeing C-17 Globemaster III

I really like the C-17

For me just 2 things are still missing to make it really great.

In-flight reverses and VNAV. The aircraft has been out for over a year, and those features are still missing. Is this something we can expect with the next update?

Hi,

I bought the C-17 before Christmas and can’t really use it because of too low FPS. I’m on medieum-end PC. I read this thread and not seeing solution: I’m on Screen medium refresh rate already. All planes do well on my PC, even the IniA350 is doing better than the C17.

Is there an update to load after SU4 (in case I bought it before) or will it be updated automatically (streamed plane)? I searched for it in the manager and couldn’t see any.

Other tricks?

Thanks

Maybe Boris has a sound pack for this aircraft. :victory_hand::victory_hand::victory_hand::victory_hand:

I am on Xbox tho I for got to and add that

Unfortunately, the problem hasn’t been solved yet. I’m a small mouse in a large chair, and MFDs are like 30-inch TVs. I got the latest version of the MSFS2024 for the C-17. It sat in the box for a long time until I finally installed it a week ago. I was so disappointed when I saw the C-17 in VR. It’s unplayable, and unfortunately, only the C-17 (and MV-22) have the problem for me. Both are from Miltech.

Since the relase of SU4 this aircraft destroys my Main Thread performance (yes, only it and just by spawning it)
So another premium aircraft I can’t use :sob:

For comparison, this is with the 747

Do you have the C17 locally installed or is it streamed?

This is unfortunately a long-time issue in MSFS2024: https://devsupport.flightsimulator.com/t/coherent-has-a-massive-performance-impact-on-fs24/11311

C17 has a very high number of individual instances of avionics running at the same time, significantly more than 747, due to the number of displays in cockpit + Loadmaster station. Coherent and Manipulartors have a direct impact on Main Thread performance

Streamed. That is why I tried deleting the rolling cache, even manually deleting it on windows, opening MSFS again, etc…

But why is it now hitting hard on the main thread? It’s because the coherent thread is taking longer? But the coherent is taking 35 ms to render, and the thing that is limiting the FPS is the main thread.

Even If I put the glass cockpit refresh rate on low it’s still hitting hard on the main thread and manipulators thread, and I can’t troubleshoot why

I’ve been thinking of aircraft that maybe are heavy on resources but work entirely within the sim (so the Fenix A320 doesn’t fit this requisite, as I understand it computes some of the work on their app). I tried with the Inibuilds Beluga
