Advisory: This aircraft is now also available in the marketplace for MSFS2020.
itās just worth the 10$ I paid but it needs improvement to be a great addon. I hope it will be worked up a bit in flight model, textures, lighting, maybe a crew - they donāt need to be animated but a big empty barn just looks wrong. A few marine and USN paints wouldnāt hurt, whether they come from the developer or, possibly with improvements to the model, from the repainting community.
Bought the premium deluxe for this and a few other things am Gunna buy the Miltech ch47 as the one by blackbird(Microsofts in game one) is below average on the flight model looks great visually but flying wise terrible
I do hope that default aircraft like this will get further updates down the line and not just critical bug fixes
As it stands the helicopter is unfortunately too broken to be usable due to extremely poor flight model
So update on this is I bought the miltech one and omg the difference in flight model is night and day so much better with the miltech one
I agree the Miltech IS better, but the Blackbird one works pretty well for me too.
Some major systems bugs I havenāt seen mentioned yet:
- The engine condition levers are wonky. Start the engines and they spin up to full flight RPM no matter what the condition levers are set to.
- It seems to be modeled as single engine aircraft. Or maybe starting one engine starts both? Not sure whatās going on here but I have not been able to run it on one engine.
- Related to the previous point, engine 2 gauges always show the same exact thing as engine 1 gauges.
- The oil pressure gauges are weirdly rotated about 45 degs clockwise. Meaning the entire faces of the gauges.
- The controls will randomly stop working or lockup after a long period of flying. The only way to unlock them is to go full deflection and then they work normally until the next time it happens. More common and noticeable with yaw control but happens with cyclic as well. This often leads to the aircraft zooming off uncontrollably in one direction or another.
- The trim controls, both the trim hat and force trim release also seem to stop working after a long flight. Need to test this more to confirm.
- I also get the instant aircraft crash when opening the pilot window.
This is all in SU4
Anybody has this issue?
Chinook is not shown as an option in free flight, unless I disable it in library and re-enable it again. I have to do this disable-reenable everytime I launch the sim (SU4).
I also have this problem XBoxX, SU4 bug, I reported it in beta, But, of course, it was not fixed.
Just found that it was reported here:
This is happening to me too (PC). I come here just looking for an answer for that xD
Tested so many times in various situations: this chinook cannot do this manoeuvre, because there is no way to stabilise it on the air. Genuine chinook can do stable minor adjustment which blackbird simulations is unable to replicate.
Blackbird one is average the Miltech one is way better and you can do these kind of moves in
First, thatās irrelevant since weāre talking about the āBlackbirdā Chinook. Second, I miraculously found a way to stabilize the CH-47D: by turning all of these off.
Iāll do some more testing when I have time later.
When we make our products, all assists are off
are there any liveries for this bird? military ones?
I did a quick search, and I donāt see any. Thereās one package for the miltech version on the marketplace and a whole bunch on fs.to. Unless Iām just inept at searching Iām going with the fact that the Miltech version is just better so people are making deliveries for that one.
Miltech one also has a paint kit so that helps for repaints
Thanks for the confirmation. This information should have been shared with every user much earlier. With all assists disabled, I can land on ships or rooftop pads. While precision remains a challenge, the fact that this is the only rotorcraft using the native 2024 tandem simulation makes it a lot of fun.
I hope you will consider adding RPM trim functionality later on. The buttons are currently available in the collective but do not actually work.
