[MSFS2024] De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver

Unfortunately all true. Hard to imagine how much we put up with to try workarounds and such for this jumbled software 5 months out. Imagine if the Call of Duty franchise had published this trash.

Same with the auto pilot buttons turn on not off and not functioning.

fortunately, it seems they’v fixed a lot of issues with the latest SU2 Beta, just took a flight in the beaver wheels GPS, and all seemed to operate properly : auto pilot, booster pump, fuel usage and even the trim needles have been corrected
they even redid the ground handling physics, no more need to pray to not turn over the plane when gently using the brakes. All in on, a very agreable flight
hope it’ll stay.

According to the Flight Manual (revised 1st Oct 1962 - available via Avialogs.com) upon landing you should “hold the control column fully back”. If you do this whilst tapping the brakes rapidly (as an ABS system would in your car) it will greatly reduce the tendency for the aircraft to nose-over.

It’s difficult to brake effectively if you are using a button rather than somwthing like a pedal because its all or nothing. There is no gradual braking.

I hope this helps, because once you’re used to it, it’s actually a really fun aircraft to fly.

Bring back the Bush wheel variant from 2020 please

It would be so good.
Also, the possibility for the Cargo mod for the DHC-2 Beaver developer, to update their addon, which in 2020 required the Got Friends Expansion pack.
I’ve already managed to modify the cockpit and the exterior but nothing more.

Even today, I don’t understand how Microsoft/Asobo managed to completely remove the 40th Anniversary Expansion from Got Friends, in the MSFS2024.

Er
what’s the secret to getting the DHC-2 amphibious to taxi? No visible chocks, no parking brake and yet
 can’t move it.

On ground or water?

Doesn’t matter for me. Amphib or wheels I can’t get it to move. XboxX.

that would be ground – can’t see chocks being particularly effective on water.

So another incomplete and clearly untested effort by Microsobo. How they manage to make 2020 aircraft WORSE (in many respects and many cases) is beyond me.

Really guys, call the next release MSFS 2075 and test the stuff properly.

So it does have invisible chocks installed, as a temporary work-around you can disable them in developer mode:

Thanks for the tip @TheSupercalle.

You can also bind a new keybind I believe it is called quick preflight or something. This removes the invisible chocks. Check the controls settings.

No dev mode on xbox. This thing was finally all fixed. They are absolutely incapable of testing and implementing fixes without breaking other things. Incredible.

Beaver is probably my best aircraft (hard fighting with skycourier for first place) in career. It is working, feels really good and what started like bad relationship (I was not switching fuel tanks) became one of my most used planes. Autopilot works nice, heading or altitue hold, even climb or descend works for me.
What I was not able to discover is if there is option to lock tail wheel, It would be extremely useful while landing. Do someone of you know if this plane has that feature in real life?

Nope. You have to get used to the handling of the bush aircraft.

Btw in reality it’s a very nice aircraft but the engine model I honestly don’t like it. It’s not modeled good. You can start the engine without any fuel wobbling etc. it’s pendant in X-plane from thranda is much better.

In career mode I can’t never reach my destination as loaded fuel is always too low. :frowning:

IT IS not. You are not switching fuel tanks and/or managing your RPM and manifold properly for cruise
