The big black button that engages ALT hold is the same button to disengage it. You must have set your desired alt in the “set altitude” alerter before disengaging alt hold. It will not capture it though only warn when 500ft away from desired alt. Then change pitch with the pitch attitude white lever. Plus throttle.
If it will not disengage no matter what, just disconnect the AP temporarily but then you need to set up your HDG mode again if that what you’re using.
Ive not found the honeycomb alt select to function well, it works sometimes and not others.
Well, I can. It’s because 2020 is old, and 2024 is new. They’re not dropping 2020 like a hot potato, but now with more players on 2024, that’s the way of the future. Eventually 2020 will be phased out I’m sure, just like any other “old” software title that has been replaced. 2024 a much more capable platform despite the shoddy launch.
The F27 was designed with 2024 in mind first and foremost.
As appealing as the F27 is to me, it’s of no use if I can’t fly it with bespoke liveries from the airlines that operated it.
I understand this version it is based on the Fokker F27 around in Lelystad. However i still think they better named this aeroplane a Fairchild F27 as it deviates to much from a Fokker aircraft. Some people may know that the Fairchild F27 was not even a “underlicense build aircraft”. Fokker sold the design to Fairchild and they made their own decissions to deviate in various areas. Only total aerodynamic shape of the aeroplane was kept to avoid extreme cost of certifying the aerodynamics. Big changes involved the choice of wingskin materials, nosewheel stering, pitot statics on the nose section instead of the wingtips, dropdown passenger door and airconditioning.
Lots of them were sold in the USA and when Fokker introduced the Fokker F27 MK 500 with Swift Aire in the USA around the 1980’s a new type certificate had to be applied for to allow operation in the USA.
The other thing that should be noted is that the Fairchild F27 did not have a long lifespan, such as the Fokker F27 still flying around, as with the collaps of Fairchild company all support to the Fairchild aircaft was lost and wing structural limmits simply forced operators to scap the aeroplanes.
So in conclusion i still advocate to rename the aeroplane a “Fairchild F27” and not piggiback on the good name of the Fokker F27
I don’t think the demise of the Fokker company or how the plane developments from there on are the fault of MS/Asobo. They can only use what’s there and how it was officially licenced to develop from.
However, I did find your explanation of the aircraft very interesting from a historical perspective
. Do you know of an actual example of the version you refer to?
Is there a visual difference to identify a Fairchild variant from a Fokker?
For one thing Fokker F-27s had their pitot tubes on the end of each wing. And Fairchild called theirs FH-227s. I also believe they were the ones that also had a stretched version as well.
I thought as much and the noise is fine at the lower rpm’s, just at full throttle in flight it’s so quiet all I hear is wind noise, not sure if that’s realistic?
I wonder why my prop axis controlls the rpm when it clearily isnt that function in the plane??
Discussed earlier:
Have not found out of the throttle settings yet, but established 200kn cruise at 15.000 ft by following the manual and climbing 200 ft above wanted cruise altitude, and then pitch down with high throttle pitch.
Because you’re over riding the code
I asked inibuilds for support regading the switching issue btw nav 1 and 2 and the CDI needle - this is the reply I got
“As mentioned in another thread here, inibuilds won’t be handling any support in this forum.”
If a user does not own the TDS GTN650, they will see a WASM error message when they select it in the EFB Options page:
It would help if there was text on the options page in-game - or at least on page 11 of the manual - that states that the user needs to own the TDS GTN650 in order for this option to work. Not all users will be familiar with this type of 3rd-party product.
(For context, see this topic).
[Edit]
This was on my PC. For Xbox & PS5 users, the option to purchase these types of addons may not even be possible.
What do I use for the scripts?
Spad.next? I am new to it so don’t know much about it yet. If you could point me in the right direction I can figure it out. Thanks!
In FS2024, the stall horn sounds when the approach speed drops below 105KIAS.
It seems that the reduction in prop pitch at 70-75% rpm is slowing the aircraft down too much.
According to the attached chart, the prop pitch should be 32° constant above 11,000rpm (30% rpm) and reduce to 20° (flight fine) when below 11,000rpm.
_F27-power.pdf (93.5 KB)
As I read it, 18° (ground fine) is used for taxi power from idle rpm up to 10,400rpm (20% rpm) and 0° (feathered) is set at full reverse rpm.
Also on approach at 100KIAS the nose is pitched up as though full flaps cannot produce enough lift at that speed to keep the aircraft level.
It also seems to be in huge contrast to the freeware one that doesn’t drop like a brick on approach. It’s worth trying it out just to see the differences. Something is amiss.
