I absolutely love flying the Orion but it seems to me that its mass is not really taken into account as the up and downdrafts in the sim can blow it around quite a bit. Also, as I see it has already been mentioned, a gyrocopter CANNOT flat spin or stall and this one will happily do it. If those things could be fixed it’d be tremendously awesome!
I found this video online that shows some fun that can be had:
I also want to give my feedback regarding the modelled physics in the hope it might be taken into consideration in case there’ll be an update or someone finds a way to alter parameters manually.
While flying in air is real fun and the graphics and controls are gread there are quite some issues with the physic model which is really unfortunate given the dedication that was obvisouly put into making this plane.
To my experience the most critical differences to reality are in the start and autorotation phases, less the landing phase (unless low airspeed approach). The flat spin issue was discussed before. The start issue might be related. It seems that the engine power as well as the mass of the rotorblades are incorrectly modelled. Releasing the pre-rotator is immediately followed by loss of rotor RPM and increase throttle at the same time does not help to recover since the plane does not gain ground speed as it should. The engine should deliver 150hp but it feels like 100hp max. But could be also result from wrong mass configuration as for some reason I get over 1000kg mass displayed in the plane selection window.
