Where did you find this settings page?
The autopilot is unusable in VR - the mouse wont surface over any of the auto pilot section
I dont play career mode. I free flight its a mess
I have to take it for a quick spin on my usual fpl for testing aircraft on one of the 3rd party handcrafted airports I own since 2020, and in reality I live exactly under the GS for this field on final approach, but the bottom line is that it has 2500 meters runway with ILS and STAR/SID procedures, not to mention that the charts I do know for heart
Thatās why Iām saying that itās ONE of the best planes so far, especially as the Max8 is so much broken. And not having the VR set Iām unaware of the problems with the HW avionics in VR mode
Does the cockpit āswimā for anyone else? When I move my VR headset, the cockpit moves a bit. Anyone else?
Hello pilots,
I have a few questions about the PC-12. Iāve flown it for the first time today and there are some things I havenāt found an answer to:
-
How can I change the altimeter units from InHg to hPa? I fly in Europe so I canāt set the altimeter if Iām told the InHg value only.
-
Where can I see and monitor the ground speed (GS)? This is important because the aircraft accelerates quickly on idle and in Career Mode itās crucial to keep taxiing speed below 20 kts.
-
On takeoff, I got several amber and red warnings about ITT. It was clearly way too high during takeoff and climb, even as the autothrottle was engaged. Is there a way to prevent this?
Thanks!
To change the QNH units you need to go to the lower MFD, there is screen shot even in this thread. GS is indicated on PFD in lower right corner besides HSI bellow altimetter and the master caution on climb didnāt figured out yet. The plane in FS24 outperform real aircraft with climb rate on AP. Pilatus states 1750 fpm climb for PC-12 NGX, but I didnāt try yet to climb in V/S mode with this setting. Unfortunately the avionics setting are not saved between flights, so you need to change this every time you fly. Donāt exceed FL180, the pressurisation of this plane is not implemented yet and causes crash due to hypoxia just couple minutes after reaching cruise altitude, which by default for PC-12 is FL290
Also when taking the Thottle to Idle during approach, the Engine takes way too long to spool down. And the behaviour of the ITT is not realistic at all. (IMO in cruise itās way to low.
E.g. in Reallife, on 5/6 FM final you can put it on idle, and by latest 4 miles the airspeed is reduced from 240ish kt to 180 (gear speed)
Can anyone else confirm or deny the ālow speed modeā button does not, in fact, drop RPM to 1550 instead of 1700 like it is supposed to?
External lights are completely broken on the PC-12.
-
Taxi lights donāt illuminate anything, they project 90 degrees under themselves.
-
Landing lights as well, although they have a forward-looking shaft, it doesnāt illuminate much ground.
-
Strobe lights are invisible, only their projection on the ground can be seen.
-
Nav lights actually light inbound, towards the fuselage, you can see their light through the winglets but not from actually outside.
Only the beacon lights work properly. A complete and utter mess this one.
Works as intended for me.
Light comes on and the rpmās drop to around 1550
Hmm, ok. Iāll have to beat it a bit more then. I see the light āonā but still 1700RPM w/ parking brake set on the ground.
Thanks,
Yup, the lights are a complete disaster, idk why lights in 2024 cant be seen during the day time now too?
It is a bug, I have the same issue. The wind vector sometimes is ok, but most of the time is way off
I think the new āphotometric lighting systemā made all the lights invisible during daytime. Must be something with light rendering overall. They should probably increase the intensity of the external light sources to compensate, but without making them overly bright in dark situations. Just another something they didnāt have time to properly develop.
Iāve just had my first, gold icon, mission for VIP charters, in the PC-12 and had a bit of a time with NAV mode.
Having skipped, due to ATC telling me that I needed to climb to 20,000ft and me not wanting to suffocate, Nav mode on the AP was disabled and I couldnāt capture it again, even having crossed the path several times and disabling/re-enabling it and VNAV mode. I ended up flying the rest of the route in Hdg mode.
Is there something that Iām missing or is this just another bug?
Oh, and is the EGT warning supposed to happen on an AT climb at 140kts?
I think you can select the intercept mode on the waypoint but you have to fly on hdg to intercept (it will show this somewhere, donāt remember where). You can always use direct-to mode.
With AT EGT warning comes red and then when you reach TOC it goes down. Also when you climb past 10kft I think it goes down a little (maybe depends on outside temp)
I believe that low speed switch is supposed to be used only in cruise flight to lower the sound levels in the plane.
For takeoff and climb, you donāt want that enabled.
