[MSFS2024] Pilatus PC-12 NGX

I’m pretty sure this comes when there is a mismatch between pilot and copilot altimeter settings

Very fun plane!
Would be VERY helpful to have any form of documentation for it in the msfs manuals webpage. Especially because of how different it is to other aircraft avionics, and how early you can get it in career.

4 bugs I’ve spotted:

  • Nav lights shine through the wingtips, makes it look very wierd
  • Heat blur from the engine distorts wierdly and sometimes things it shouldnt. I think it would be better to not have this than the state it is right now.
  • In certain lighting the shadow from the propeller glitches insanely. Casting way to hard and long shadows.
  • There are some things you can’t type on the lower MDU, you must use the keyboard icon in order to get any text down. (one example is when adding a waypoint in the enroute phase of the flightplan)

Very cool plane, wish there were more introductionary material for it!

+1

Would prefer this to the PC-24 too.

this is new for me, never seen battery warnings before.
Unless it has something to do with plane maintenance not being done in a while…
edit: Ah yes…

You can also see on your electrical panel that readings aren’t what they should be.

Can anyone confirm if they fixed the pressuratization bug for missions?

just plan a flight FL180 and then quickly go above FL200 and back.

This is proper… in a PT-6, the prop is not directly attached to the “engine”. So when you start it you are hearing the compressor turbine and combustion chamber portion of the engine starting and spinning. Again, this portion of the engine is not attached to the prop shaft. The prop shaft is attached to the power turbine section of the engine which isn’t powered by combustion but instead is kind of like a hair dryer blowing on a windmill… it takes a certain amount of pressure before the prop will start to spin. These two sections spin in opposite directions to counter torque and prevents the prop shaft from over torquing because the pt-6 is so bad ■■■.

has anyone tested pressurization since “major update 1.2.8.0” (which has exactly six lines of patch notes)?

Did they add seat belts? I don’t remember them obsuring oxygen level

Can confirm that pressurization is still broken after today’s patch

How much time do you get to lower down? And what is the maximum we can do? I was staying at 18,000 to be safe when I was forced to fly this for the VIP unlock, but ATC was NOT happy with me as my route included some points with a FL200 minimum and my “Airline procedures” score was like 20% :frowning:

You were suffering from hypoxia at the time

I was at fl290 when I got this message about 20 minutes into the flight, about 15 minutes after reaching fl290. When I got it and taking the screen (on pause) I selected 17000 feet, used flc and dropped 3000ft/min while asking atc for clearance lol. Now I don’t know if it counts in game minutes or real life minutes (I think I was simrate x2) but I think IF you notice the notification, you have enough time to get down.

Oh you were way up there and even then it didn’t trigger for a while.

Two questions regarding the avionics.

Is it possible to display the vertical navigation profile on the MFD like the real unit ? If so how ? I did not manage to find out.

How do you activate an approche on this avionics if you have to activate it at all? I have managed to include a visual approche on my flight plan but it does not really connect to the runway. It set up a waypoint near by the airfield but that’s it, there is no guidance either lateral or vertical. Am I suppose to activate it ? If so how ?

I like learning new avionics system but this honeywell system is not the most intuitive ones.

Also is it possible to choose your unit for the fuel ? If so how ?

All the avionics show fuel in Lbs except for the remaining fuel at destination on the flight plan page that seems to show it in US gallons (it was indicating 118 while I land with 800lbs which is roughly the conversion lbs/US gallons for Jet A), it’s a bit weird not to have consistency across the avionics display.

I know how a pt6 works lol. When you press the start, you get a rise in ng and the propellor begins spinning. With the Carenado ngx…prop seems to start spinning after fuel is introduced..so that its not modelled correctly.

At normal decent rate nope, tried already
