[MSFS2024] Pilatus PC-12 NGX

I have succesfully finished all my medium cargo missions with PC-12, yes it have bugs but only disaster bug is pressurization which can be avoided by flying under 20k feet.

It is still not 100% working with AP NAV mode in some cases.

There’s only one nav bug and that is that copilot’s pfd is not set up properly, it’s literally a one click fix
comparing to other planes this one is pretty bug free

There’s no functionable timers.

Interesting, because I have the opposite reaction.

I love hand flying this a/c.

My favorite PC-12 tutorials are by this guy:

Start here:

PC-12: Some of the text displayed on the PFD and map displays is nearly unreadable unless zoomed in - having to constantly zoom in to read these things really takes away the enjoyment and means the sim pilot is having to punch keys or push buttons just to read information that a RL pilot can see easily. That takes away much enjoyment of the sim.

Specifically, there are places where the text color and background are too similar. This is particularly a problem when trying to see the autopilot status at top of the PFD screen. Letters are very light green on a generally blue background. I’m not color blind but I imagine they would be illegible for some.
Also in the map display using the soft-keys: The font is a thin line of white on a light gray background.

I checked on the actual Pilatus web site where there are pictures of the cockpit displays. The sim basically duplicates the actual colors fairly accurately but I suggest the in the sim you could increase the contrast and boldness of the font without sacrificing essential fidelity to real life.

Yes the colors are not good in the sim. It feels like all they did was match the RGB values without consideration to the rendering presentation which doesn’t work. Perceived value is different from actual value. This along with the heat blur is the main reason I don’t fly this plane regularly. In VR the avionics are VERY hard to read. I want to tweak the values so badly.

Seems lots of functionalities are missing.

I just want them to fix the pressurization bug, it would really help for ground speed and fuel efficiency in career mode.

Hi, I meant to properly thank you for this post.

I had a few failed attemps, one occasion where I hit “activate vetors” at TOD rather then just letting it do its thing, and two occasions where I forgot to turn on the pitot heat, and half way through decent, both times actually, the airspeed indicator failed, and sent the autopilot haywire and I had to manually intervene to save it.

However, I have managed it several times now, as you say, once at cruising altitude you set your altitude to whatever it shows on the nav point (usually about 2k ft over the runway height) arm RNAV, and at TOD the plane just starts decending by itself, then you you are lined up with the runway and at a level to intercept the glide path, you can activate vectors or change over to the ILS as appropriate.

The only thing I am still having issues with is the auto throttle, which is really no big deal, but I find it tries to fly my plane way to fast on decent and starts stressing the engine.

Otherwise I am absolutely loving this plane now, the ONLY thing I wish it had was the thing in the vision jet where it can create its own landing vectors on any runway, but I guess you cant have everything.

Thanks Champ.

If AT uses FMS speeds, then you will need to make sure that these are correct in the avionics. If ILS approach is selected, then both altitude and speed constraints will be available for AT to work with. If there is a VFR approach you are probably best to select straight approach which will generate an additional waypoint and both speed and alt constraints (not sure about vectors approach, might add runway alt as well).
Alternatively you can switch to manual speed mode.

Or just don’t use the AT. The thing is really bad for me constantly redlining the engine in climb and cruise.

Whats the procedure to drop landing gear on electrical failure?

I was going to attemp a gearup belly landing but was afraid I was going to loose the plane in carrer mode.

I just aborted mission before attemping emergency landing.

I have had no end of problems with this s**t plane/sim
ATC wont resapond at some aitports
Descending from 18k to 5k causes plane to overspeed at 205 knots!!! and crash

I have played some useless games, but MS you have made the worst game I have ever played, its disgusting!

Some airports (mostly small) are uncontrolled airfields. Not a problem or s bug of the plane.

Why dont you reduce speed? Check for max. descent rate for this plane
this plane id not a fighterjet. You have to start your descent around 60-70-80 nm away or even more.

Yesterday I bought this aircraft in career mode as a substitute for the PC-24, as the PC-24 cannot take off or land at most airfields.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it flies. It is just as good as the PC-24 but it feels more agile, maintaining the same cruise speed and the same navigation systems.

But I have a problem. When I take off and activate the autopilot with the automatic speed the plane starts to heat up and the ITT indicator starts flashing red. Is there any way to cool it down during the climb without deactivating the autopilot?

i never use autotrottle, only autopilot for altitute and heading/track/nav/fms

The checklist is actually placarded under the side windows
you basically slow to 120 and go to the back of the center console, pull the cover in the middle and pull the lever. That releases a cable and the gear will fall into place(idk if its actually modelled in the sim)

I checked it once. It was not functional. Same kn the PC-24.
