Thanks man! My bad on not seeing your post. At least I know I’m not the only one with this issue!
Let’s hope they fix it.

No worries just want to make sure anyone seeing the same issue goes and votes up the bug report.
I felt the same and I have a fix for it. Go to curves and change the neutral settings way to the right. Now my throttle are used from 0-100%. Did a huge difference when flying this twitchy little beast.
I had my best experience with this helicopter today. Now getting used to my new pedals and the feeling of this r66 is amazing.
FWIW I have absolutely no trouble starting the R66 at all. Works (more or less, if you ignore sequence of real-world steps) as it should my side. Pleasant to fly too.
There are many niggles, but nothing earth shattering for me. Suppose I am lucky in that regard. Now if only I can get the core sim to actually function today …
Yes that was my idea too. I will give it a shot. It might be a good work around until maybe it gets some treatment. I just wish the parking brake bug in career mode would get fixed.
I found it was actually an issue with the controller profiles reverting. I posted what I found in the bug report.
I got everything to work, but assignments are all over the place between default, 1st party & 3rd party helicopters. The way they solved it with profiles per aircraft is working really well for the most part. I’ve had a few times where profiles don’t save or revert back to a previous one.
It flies really well and I’ve been testing the FM and it does what the real one does but it has a few items to address.
My top issues with this helicopter:
Anyone having troubles with the R66 clipping through the refill truck on Agricultural Missions? Still haven’t fixed the parking brake issue even after the latest update as far as I can tell.
How is it compared to Cowan’s?
The Cowan R66 was pretty good in 2020, but I do think this one is better (in spite of some niggles – belatu42 described most of those above). To be fair I haven’t compared them side-by-side.
Yes but the h125 do the same.
I did read a reddit post that claimed that binding the rotor break and frequently pulling it solves that. Did not try it though.
It’s really annoying that the collective lever is in the half position, the torque value is already at 100%. When taking off, I barely pull in the collective, the torque value is already at 70%. It’s like the helicopter is weightless. Has anyone reported the error?
It’s not behaving this way for me with my setup.
What are you using to control the collective and how do you have it mapped?
Thanks for writing. I’m using a Saitek X52 PRO. Could you send me a video or pictures of your settings? I’m curious, how did you set it up.
I do have the same problem (using thrustmaster TWCS)
to fix it i have to set the neutral setting all the way to the right
@RickToTheMax I am very grateful that you wrote and sent me a picture. I set it up based on the picture you sent, and now it works flawlessly. Great! Thank you
Same for me with Hotas full kit. But by doing so my anti torque pedals behaves very strange. They become very insensitive and it’s hard to keep it not from yawning from side to side.
I change the neutral settings to default and the pedals became very precise again. But the throttle/collective are very sensitive and over torque after 50-60%
I tried to change the neutral setting again but this time I did a big s-curve on the sensitive settings for the pedals. Now it works like a charm
As an Xbox controller user (on PC) I currently can’t fly the R66 properly, because the collective power is far to sensitive. Every click is about 10% power difference, which is far too much for precise handling
Anyone know how to step it in smaller increments per click?
Try to change the neutral settings for the collective to far right as they described above.
If you are able by a joystick, throttle and pedals do that🙏 much better choices on pc than for me who are on Xbox.
By having real controls the game becomes a sim😃 I started with an Xbox controller and I can’t describe what a huge difference it is.
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I am not able to tweak that curve on the controller, because buttons are used to set the collective, not an axis
