[MSFS2024] Saab 340B

Thanks, I didn’t have the magenta line after entering the flightplan. Does it just have to be entered I to the FMC or also the tablet? I read that was an issue at one point.

I entered FP in the EFB before loading into airport. Make sure you set your departure and destination airport on the top of screen before filling efb IE while you are still in world map. Fill in SID STAR etc and route. Altitude. So I did this before SU4 and the performance data never stuck but maybe it is different now. Then send to ATC and avionics. Then load into mission. Then go through checklist and once your external power is on and you get batts on, avionics on, Aligned and all that, send from EFB your route and it should all show up in the CDU and on the EHSI.

My workaround for getting the RNAV CDI “purple needles” to work no longer works it seems. The purple course needle is always centered and always facing forward now. Anyone know how to fix?

God its depressing that we still have to do these stupid work arounds on something that was marketed as a premium deluxe plane. Between this and the H225, its extremely disappointing that Asobo and their third parities still can’t make it happen over a year after release.

What used to be your workaround?

I used to make sure that the world map had a departure and destination before I loaded in. Then the purple cdi needles would work. Now it doesn’t work even if I do that.

Before SU4 mine were working if I sent straight from EFB and also had departure and destination in.

I’ll check over weekend and see if mine are problematic.

I’ll give that a try thanks

Yeah, I was doing the whole FP in EFB, never touched online planner or simbrief

The cdi needle is still locked in the middle for me :frowning:

OK i’ll check mine this w’end

I added some points to this topic:

Have any of you got the ADF selector to work? I was trying to do a NDB approach but no joy dialing in the frequency.

I have checked my Saab 340B, PC STEAM, and it seems to me that the normal middle section which normally deviates is also locked for me. However there is this straight line which deviates in the same way the centre portion would normally do. If I am L of centre of the Nav course, I must turn right to recapture. It is then dead on centre.

If I am rt of centre same thing happens, the long magenta line shows to the left of me

Normal on track

Just to add, my approach had a couple of left and right turns and the Long magenta line curved this way and that to follow the predicted course - as below. It seems this is the new design!

So that purple line you are referring to is the underlying track of the flight plan. Yes, you can follow that line and things end up ok, but the huge magenta arrow CDI in the center should point to the next waypoint, and also show your deviation of course. My workaround I described before actually made this work. Here’s my bug report on it from awhile ago. Check this screengrab to see how the CDI needle should work:

Yep, that never moves the compass rose moves and the FP moves which basically shows the next waypoint if I could scroll it out.

There’s a knob on the eyebrow panel to switch from rose to arc with different ranges. That would show you more of the FP.

I’ve been having constant CTD’s when trying to fly Saab since SU4. I can get airborne, and around 2000-4000 ft sim just freezes and quits. All the other planes are working well so this seems Saab-specific. I tried this with different liveries and different airports. Always CTD. This makes me sad.
