Saab 340B GPS/FMS HSI display does not work properly unless a destination was selected in the world map

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: If you load in with the SAAB 340B somewhere without selecting an arrival on the world map, then the HSI will not work properly when trying to follow a GPS/FMS flightplan loaded into the FMS system. The GPS deviation needle is always centered, and does not correctly point to the next waypoint (it always points dead ahead).

If you load a destination in the world map, then the HSI works by showing you the direction of the next waypoint, deviation, etc once you have built a flight plan on the FMS (the FMS did not have the flightplan from the world map on load).

This happens with or without SU2 Beta installed

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
SAAB 340B

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Everytime

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load into the SAAB 340B either at parking or on the runway with no destination selected on the world map.
  2. Load a flight plan into the FMS
  3. Observe that the HSI never shows the next waypoint information, bearing, or crosstrack devaition needle.

When no destination is loaded on the world map, and flight plan is created manually in FMS (HSI needle always points forward and line is always centered):

When destination is selected in the world map, and flight plan is created manually in the FMS (HSI needle points towards next waypoint and line shows crosstrack:

Even thought the HSI works now, the magenta line painted on it will still be the line from the orginal “world map” flight plan, and never changes.

Took some time flying this plane (with setting the destination on the world map) and it actually works really well. You don’t even have to set the destination you’re really going to, one just needs to be set before you load in and the whole system works.

This bug is the difference between someone thinking the FMS (or GPS) Avionics in this plane is completely broken vs working pretty well… so I hope it’s addressed.

Another way to cause this bug is to import your flightplan from the EFB to the avionics (after you have already started a freeflight). It will instantly put the HSI into this bad state, and doesn’t even import the flightplan to the FMS anyway.
