Apparently, it’s not present in 1933 without GPS. You’re right, though; it’s a splendid aircraft and it can certainly offer an adventurous flight (like flying over the Alps..
) . In my opinion, it’s not to be missed.

The checklist is also present in the modern version.
So I’m seeing the checklist in all 3 variants in 2024. If this aircraft is available in 2020, then maybe this feature is not available.

@FRELUITA Yes, the 2024 native upgrade of the S.55 has a number of features not present in the 2020 version, including the options clipboard, windshield refraction, insect accumulation, improved effects and propeller animations, the anchor system, and walkaround of course.
I will look into the autopilot issues you mentioned. Typically pressing the “toggle altitude hold” key should reset the autopilot’s target altitude to the current one, but it may come to pass that I will need to add an optional autopilot control head to the plane, at some point. That’s a hard line to walk though, between purists that value no-autopilot authenticity, and the reality of a long range oceanic aircraft where simmers don’t have 10 hours straight to spend sitting in the cockpit.
I was hoping the “hidden” autopilot would be enough, but we’ll see.

It is a wonderful aircraft, especially now with the native 2024 version. It’s so nice to just cruise around in it. So beautiful and easy to handle. Have to find some nice trips to take her on with lots of places to land her 
@Ramasurinen Thanks for your input. I fully understand the purists and agree with them, but at least altitude and direction (which are not maintained precisely anyway) are unavoidable… the Vickers Vimy comes to mind… lmao.
I love how the APU sounds like my old Vespa.

What’s also hilarious to me is sliding open the overhead roof panel, looking up at that oil pan and envisioning just how much oil that engine must have leaked down onto the cockpit. Having been an Italian car mechanic who specialized in vintage Italian racing cars from the beginnings to the '70s, oil leaks are a major reality for aluminum Italian engines!

Seems appropriate to do a flyby of Heart’s Castle in a period-correct aircraft.

@NixonRedgrave I see the issue you mentioned about the comm radio. I thought the key events to set active frequency directly were exposed in the UI, but I see now that they aren’t. There are so many useful events that aren’t exposed for some reason.
Anyway, it’s not a huge job to change that, but it might be awhile before I can get to it. I’ve added it to the list for a future S.55 update.
Hearst Castle is awesome. Crash landed an AH-64 in that pool in FSX back in 2008.
