ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Im more or less not able to use this simulator due to bandwith issues. Those take shape in following issues:

• low bandwith messages all over the place, selecting livery, plane, airport, moving around worldmap, loading into flight. Every step im getting this.

• liveries and planes dont appear with thumbnail

• runways take a minute to appear on airport selection

• world map is not loading anymore

• textures of the planes are missing when loading into flight

• many other issues

What ive tried:

• restart router various times
• flush DNS cache by Asobo instructions
• deleted rolling cache
• set rolling cache to NVM drive
• no google maps mod installed and nothing of it in the hosts file

Nothing helps for this. Besides using a VPN or cloudflare Warp app. That can indeed make a difference and bring the sim back to loading.

Germany, IP Telekom. Speedtest perfect, full bandwith, no other issues with internet.

So this is the example of todays session. We chatted about this isse, that so many ppl experience, in discord. I went into the sim to test Vienna in photogrammetry, because around 5 days ago it worked so phenomenal good but already next day only flat polys appeared

So here i logged in at around 8 o clock evening, German time. It worked perfect, i loaded into Vienna in 14 seconds. Photogrammetry and terrain worked flawless.

Then i went back to the main menu (with luck, because usually it freezes here) and showed pictures of the worldmap, how crisp it looks if the servers have good connection.

Then, just seconds later, bandwidth message appeared and everything ent downhill again. The map stopped loading nearly fully, liveries thumbnails disappeared, loading into Vienna took 10 minutes.

Plese, other people posting here, please only do it if you really have kinda the same issues. There are various other reasons the terrain could be blurry, like the FPS target setting, a router not having been restarted a while, etc etc. Please make sure you did those things first. I think one should also having low bandwith messages appear.

I agree. I fly for 1-2 hours every day. Unfortunately, the servers are still not working properly, the streaming is not good either. One proof of this is, for example, the quality of the photogrammetry. There are days when the quality is better, there are days when the photogrammetry melted. It is clear that there is no stability, and the server infrastructure is not adequate.

Same Issue Here:
Constantly getting the low bandwith warning.
Unacceptable loading times (>10 Minutes) and graphics that are beyond unsightly. Textures are missing in airplanes and the ground is a single coloured plane.
MSFS 2024 uses 1-2MBits/s of the available 100.

Steps taken to isolate root cause:

• Confirmed that internet connection is stable
• Confirmed that download speed is adequate (100 +/- 10 MBits/s)
• Confirmed that upload speed is adequate (40 +/- 10 MBits)
• Tested various DNS Server settings in the router
• Connection to the router via ethernet cable
• Stopped any program that may be requiring bandwith

No root cause on the user end could be found, thus it must be either an ISP issue (unlikely, as any other streaming is working at full speed) or an issue at MS.

This issue makes the game unplayable for the numerous times the warning pops up.

I can basically always make it work by starting Cloudflare Warp app. But with that the overall dl speed is lower, so its also doesnt get the full resolution textures oon ground.

But its a lot better, at least the scenery loads with it. Very quick too.

Ive not seen a single bandwith issue with Warp active. But the moment i deactivate it, in 80% of cases it appears same second.

So there has to be some routing issues to the CDN. Not really sure whos the culprit, i just know that basically everything else works fine.

It may not be directly related and the wrong place to report but im getting the same bandwith issues in 2020 now, when i create scenery and move around ground polys. Very often, lets say in around 80% of cases, im getting the same bandwith low message there, when moving a ground poly.

Not sure how that can be. But it happens too often to be coincidence.

Ive made a video, that wshows the whole issue, including how Warp fixes it.

What you see in this Video:

When i started the recording the sim was running already since 10 to 15 minutes. Please keep this mind.

You see me selecting an Airport, but no Runways appear in the selection. Also no Runway and Frequency data appears right hand side.

You see me choosing another runway, same happens. You see me zoom into the map, but it wont load higher resolution map images.

Then at one point (minute 0:45) you see me activating Warp. Basically a sec later you already see city names appearing on map.
But it will take a while until it fully reconnects to everyting. So just move 1 min forward and you will see a fully working sim, where everything works. The Runways appear same second one is choosing an airport, Frequencies too and the map zoom works too. Thats what i mean, with Cloudflare Warp it works a lot better.

Again, keep in mind, the sim was running already over 10 mins. So no, its NOT coincdidence, this is reproducable nearly 100%.

If i would have started a flight before activating warp, it would take over 10 mins to load into it. With Warp active it takes 15 seconds to even higher end scenery like LOWW.

In very rare cases, ironically always in prime time during the last 2 weekends, i could use MSFS without Warp.
And it looked wonderful. But its really rare… But already better than when i made the topic. Still not fully there, im still getting same bandwith low and loading long time, without Warp But now sometimes i can use it for like an hour without it.

nothing much to add. I have to fly about 15 minutes in circles over Manhattan until the last photogrammetry building eventually has loaded and the statue of liberty finally appears.

Performance is really still up and down here. On a 100mbit down line, fully capable of multiple hd video streaming and also msfs2024 unless towards the end of day performance goes downhill, bandwidth warnings, no acces to AI traffic warnings, blurry grounds, career mode not loading (well after minutes I sit at my desk in my HQ on green grass and missing walls, just half loaded. So 99.97% uptime and performance? Still not for me 24/7….

How is MSFS24 only using a miniscule percentage of the available bandwith?

Please fix this as soon as possible. This is in every way unacceptable.
I have tried any fix that I can think of or can find on the internet.
As a long time flight sim fan, this is beyond disappointing.
Give us the game we paid you good money for.

Its really getting ridiculous. Speedtest showing 101 MBits/s Download and 42 MBits/s upload, MSFS 24 is using an embarrassing 0.1-1.5 MBits at times.

It’s not automatically an issue though.
Depending on where I’m the world you fly, if it has photogrammetry or not, etc.

It can be that it never needs to pull more than that.
But of course, if you have blurries and low bandwidth warnings or doesn’t make sense.

Europe / Germany here. After the Update the start of the game to the mainmenu lasts for over two hours. When I start a Mission now the ground is only a brown mass without any textures. I mean realy what sort of update was this?
I don´t understand how microsoft clears a game in this early beta state.

“Bandwidth to low” is becoming the major pain. I don’t even care about CTDs or bugs anymore.
I have this every single time, still occuring in 1.2.7.0
I haven’t been able to even spawn into a flight the whole week.
Internet speedtest shows >260Mbit/s yet I get absolutely nothing from the sim.

• Same issue since 2 days. Was fine after the server fixes but now can’t play anything. It shows in game the low bandwidth warning but the network monitor shows it idles around 20-250kb/s

• Location Germany / Telecom 100mb connection. Every other application works just fine. Downloadspeed up to 13Mb/s

• I get “Bandwidth too low” message very often. Flight does start only after a long time, if ever. When it starts, textures are blurry or completely missing.

• Sometimes it works properly with 100 MBit provided consistently. Sometimes it completely breaks down to below 5 MBit or even below 1 MBit.
There is nothing in between, no 20 MBit, no 50 MBit or so.

Restart of the sim does not help.

There are no files in the community folder.

Sim was first installed about 2 weeks after launch and works fine whenever bandwidth is ok, but problem with bandwidth exists since day one.

Task manager and DSL router show no other applications on the connection.

Provider is Deutsche Telekom, 100 MBit, always stable with no problems with all other applications. During breakdown other applications can use full 100 MBit for themselves (tried for testing only).

Tried three different DNS servers, including Google, to no effect.

Low bandwidth seems to occur mainly during late afternoon and evening UTC-1, but can occur at every time.

Breakdown of bandwidth occurs spontaneously during a flight and after some time solves itself by jumping back to full 100 MBit. Duration of each breakdown can be a few seconds, minutes or hours. Breaking down or jumping back, whenever it occurs, takes only a second.

Usually flight doesn’t even spawn.
Flying without instruments (and scenery) makes for a unique experiences.

And quitting MSFS2024 after such an experience take another 30min, just quitting to desktop.

• Same issue since today after i did the update to the new patch 1.2.7.0. Before the patch, the loading of the world works fine. After the patch, iam not able to load any location in free flight anymore. It´s not possible to start a flight, because the loading of the map data doesn´t work.

• Did a reinstallation of the sim twice and nothing helps. The community folder is also empty. No 3th party addons are in use.

• Location Germany / 1&1 250mb/s connection. Every other application works just fine and no problems to get 250mb/s with other games or software applications.
