MSFS2024 : Which game gives you so much for the price?

(Translated from French to English by Google Translate so sorry for the bad turns of phrase)

I’m a little tired of seeing all these sometimes very mean reviews.
I’m writing the Game, but is MSFS 2024 still a game?
The career mode seems to indicate it, but this mode doesn’t interest me at all and I don’t think I’ll ever play it. For me it’s useless and takes development time for nothing.

I only do free flight and a few challenges.

I’ve been playing Flight Simulator since FS2! In wired mode on a VGA screen, or even CGA.

I developed the Navyg software for FS98 until 2002, which was a very useful moving map at a time when there was no EFB and integrated GPS.

I’ve been a private pilot since 2000 and I have 635 hours of flight time.
For many reasons, I did not buy FS2020.

I bought FS2024 because I now have a PC that allows me to run it (i12700k – rx7900xt 16GB VRAM – 64GBRAM.

This is the first time that I can really do VFR flight with a flight simulator because the landscapes are so precise, detailed and very often very accurate.

I laugh when some people complain about FPS being too low.
At one time, under fs98 I had to land at 5FPS and we could do it!

With my current configuration I think I never had less than 30FPS, which is more than enough.
So it’s true, the software still has some malfunctions, but it’s largely flyable.
I can’t stand aggressive titles and systematic detractors anymore and I tell myself that maybe they are the only ones who express themselves.

And to come back to the title of the message, what game gives you so much for the price paid (even if it is a bit expensive).
A game must be able to end: it is impossible with FS2024.
If you want to fly on all the planes, helicopters and other aircraft, on all the airports in the world, in all the weather conditions, which are infinite, you will not have enough of one life.
That is why I think that FS2024 is not just a game but a way to visit the world, especially with all the addons available.

I would like to show with this message that users (I think very many) are very happy with FS2024, which does not prevent them from kindly and politely reporting the errors encountered.

So, enough with the grumblers!

The errors will be corrected as and when.
Enjoy what you have before complaining that a little thing does not work as if it were the end of the world.

Good flights to all.

Well, you might just want to give 2020 a whirl then. At the moment, it is much better than 2024 in many respects.

The “grumblers” as you call them, are all coming from MSFS 2020 after all of the hype regarding MSFS 2024. This is Deja Vu for them. It took 4 years to get 2020 where it is at and its still not without faults. We should not be stepping backwards to move forward.

I couldn’t disagree more. MS2024 is game and the most bugged piece of software I’ve ever used. And I don’t believe all errors will be fixed. Some of them exist since 1st day of FS2020. You didn’t play it so I can understand your naivety.

It certainly gives me the most tweaking time to make it work for the price.

I had about 100 playing hours before i did my first real flight.

The game that gives you so much more for the price is MS Flight Simulator (2020).

And 30fps is not acceptable in VR, even more so than in 2D.

To each their own. I reserve the right to complain when I feel it is warranted.

DCS gives you so much more for free… For the basic cut down version.

But yes, everything is better for free on the DCS starter pack.

After 10 years as a DCS pilot, I am somewhat bemused. I never thought I would ever find myself saying that…

Which speaks volumes about the quality of 2024…

Aaand another dead on arrival topic. Nice try though…
Fellow simmers, please beware of saying anything positive. You might get stabbed by the pitch forks of the hordes of moaners.

Folks, I’m closing this topic as it’s likely to go off-topic.

We already have several MSFS 2024 feedback threads available, so please take a moment to search for an existing topic and share your thoughts there.
