(Translated from French to English by Google Translate so sorry for the bad turns of phrase)
I’m a little tired of seeing all these sometimes very mean reviews.
I’m writing the Game, but is MSFS 2024 still a game?
The career mode seems to indicate it, but this mode doesn’t interest me at all and I don’t think I’ll ever play it. For me it’s useless and takes development time for nothing.
I only do free flight and a few challenges.
I’ve been playing Flight Simulator since FS2! In wired mode on a VGA screen, or even CGA.
I developed the Navyg software for FS98 until 2002, which was a very useful moving map at a time when there was no EFB and integrated GPS.
I’ve been a private pilot since 2000 and I have 635 hours of flight time.
For many reasons, I did not buy FS2020.
I bought FS2024 because I now have a PC that allows me to run it (i12700k – rx7900xt 16GB VRAM – 64GBRAM.
This is the first time that I can really do VFR flight with a flight simulator because the landscapes are so precise, detailed and very often very accurate.
I laugh when some people complain about FPS being too low.
At one time, under fs98 I had to land at 5FPS and we could do it!
With my current configuration I think I never had less than 30FPS, which is more than enough.
So it’s true, the software still has some malfunctions, but it’s largely flyable.
I can’t stand aggressive titles and systematic detractors anymore and I tell myself that maybe they are the only ones who express themselves.
And to come back to the title of the message, what game gives you so much for the price paid (even if it is a bit expensive).
A game must be able to end: it is impossible with FS2024.
If you want to fly on all the planes, helicopters and other aircraft, on all the airports in the world, in all the weather conditions, which are infinite, you will not have enough of one life.
That is why I think that FS2024 is not just a game but a way to visit the world, especially with all the addons available.
I would like to show with this message that users (I think very many) are very happy with FS2024, which does not prevent them from kindly and politely reporting the errors encountered.
So, enough with the grumblers!
The errors will be corrected as and when.
Enjoy what you have before complaining that a little thing does not work as if it were the end of the world.
Good flights to all.
